Virginia Democratic Party to Donate Donation

Creigh Deeds has taken no money from indicted New York financier Hassan Nemazee. But it turns out the Democratic Party of Virginia received a $25,000 check from Nemazee last September.
According to Allison Jaslow, the party plans to give the donation to charity. Top Democrats have been racing to distance themselves from Nemazee, indicted for lying about his assets to get a $74 million loan from Citibank.
"We found out and decided we'd do the right thing and give it to charity," she said. "We wanted everyone to know that we know."
