Bolling links Wagner to Deeds in new ad

Anita Kumar

Well, this is a first. We got a response from Democrat Jody Wagner on Republican Bob Bolling's new attack ad before Bolling even released the ad.

Bolling started airing his fourth television ad, "Bring," across the state Monday, including in Northern Virginia. It seeks to link Wagner with gubernatorial nominee Creigh Deeds on their support for higher taxes and "dishonest" campaigns.

"Jody Wagner knows that Virginians won't support her plan for higher taxes, which is why she has been engaging in negative and dishonest attacks against Bill Bolling,'' said Bolling campaign manager Matt Wells.

"It's ironic that the candidate who ran the first false negative ad of this race would use yet another misleading attack to complain about negative campaigning,'' Wagner campaign manager Elisabeth Pearson said.

I truly just don't get how the polling on this race could even indicate that the incumbent is leading....this one is the starkest of all contrasts actually in terms of the competency and experience of these two candidates--the differences between Bolling and Wagner are truly staggering on these fundamental perspectives.

Jody Wagner is smart, exudes competence, and is sharp as a tack....Bill Bolling....well, not so much.

Doug, you're right. It is a stark contrast. On one side, you have Bolling, who has been a successful leader and steadfast in his beliefs.

On the other side you have Jody Wagner and Creigh Deeds, who have nothing to offer besides dishonesty and mudslinging. They have both been throwing everything at the wall for months just to try and find something that sticks... And they've failed.

Honestly, all I really know about Wagner's campaign is that she thinks Bolling doesn't show up for meetings. That's dishonest, and it's all she's been talking about.

And what's so competent about missing your budget numbers by billions of dollars every single time?

The polling indicates the incumbent is leading becuase the voters recognize Jody Wagner for what she is. A dishonest, incompetent political hack.

Doug,

I'm really starting to think you may be "under" Mount Vernon if you think Jody Wagner is smart, competent, or any sharper than shoe leather.

Wagner is just upset because people are seeing she cannot offer real solutions to Virginia's problems. We cannot afford more of her stumblings in Richmond.

Doug,
Your thoughts are spot on. They do not include negative invective masquerading as analysis.
