An Allen comeback, of a kind

Redskins fans probably have all kinds of thoughts related to football about the news that the team is replacing Executive Vice President of Football Operations Vinny Cerrato with former Tampa Bay general manager Bruce Allen.
But on this blog, we are interested in this news mostly because it means the return of an Allen to Washington area football. After all, Bruce Allen is the son of legendary Redskins coach George Allen. Which means, of course, he is brother to former governor and U.S. senator George Allen.
If George Allen were interested in a return to elected office, his brother could do him a world of good by improving the performance of the Washington Redskins. Northern Virginians feel that strongly about the team. On the other hand, if the team continues to lag ...
