McDonnell reappoints Flaherty, Wright to top positions

Gov. Bob McDonnell reappointed Col. Steven Flaherty as State Police superintendent and Patricia Wright as superintendent of public instruction at the department of education.

In addition, McDonnell appointed former attorney general Mark Earley's son, Mark Earley Jr., policy analyst and reentry specialist in the Department of Correctional Education.

Richard F. Sliwoski was reappointed director of the Department of General Services, and Daniel S. Timberlake was appointed director of the department of planning and budget.

Matthew A. Conrad, a former assistant attorney general, was appointed assistant Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, and former prosecutor Helivi L. Holland was appointed director of the department of juvenile justice.
