McDonnell to give state employees an additional day off

Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) announced Monday that he will close Virginia's government offices on Dec. 23, giving state employees a paid day off.
McDonnell called the day off a "small token of my thanks for your continued hard work and dedication to serving the citizens of our Commonwealth."
The state government is already closed on Dec. 24 for a Christmas holiday.
McDonnell also announced he will hold a state employee town hall on 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the Patrick Henry Building, which will streamed live online.
