Challenger Donna Edwards

I hoped the Edwards candidacy would spur Wynn to be more responsive to the people he was elected to represent. Prior to her first challenge, Al had been invisible in PG, also except to post signs at election time. I am also elated the voters of MD did not succumb to the negative campaign tactics. Arguments have been made that Edwards has no track record, but the voters looked at Wynn's record and were not impressed. I don't think the voters will wait as long to be unimpressed.

At a Barack Obama rally Monday at the University of Maryland, Fourth Congressional District candidate Donna Edwards (D) told The Post's Hamil Harris how she thinks her campaign compares to Obama's presidential efforts. Do you think the tone of Edward's campaign will bring the voters to the poll?

Voters Voice sucks.

Notice how the Post uses the term, "national spending," instead of "special interest intervention," or "out-of-state," spending. The message from the Donna Edwards campaign is: It doesn't matter how you get the money, just get it. Then claim those attack ads are , "independent."

Robin Ficker, weighing in on MC politics. Robin, I think your support of Al may have been as helpful as my weekends of leafletting for Donna. Al took his money from special interests- lobbyists - for years and voted as a Republican- against the wishes and interests of his district. Al was invisible in District 4 until Donna challenged him two years ago. But hey Robin, don't feel bad- the politicians I believed in,contributed to -and worked for in the last election- also supported Al. I understand you but not O'Malley, Franchot and Ike.

In addition to the point above, the Edwards victory stands for two other things:
1. She treated P.G. and Montgomery differently, because her P.G. literature at the polls advocated Obama, while her literature at the polls in Montgmoery did not advocate a choice.
2. If African-Americans are to assume important state-wide office they must take those offices in Democratic Primaries. I believe Edwards could defeat Mikulski, who supported Clinton, in a 2010 U.S. Senate Democratic Primary. And I believe Brown could defeat O'Malley, who supported Clinton, in a 2010 Democratic Primary for Governor. Why don't they give it a try? No guts, no glory!

Donna Won, Al Loss, but the biggest losers were the residents of the 4th congressional district. They are jumping up and down complaining about what Al didn't do for the district while he was in Congress. In two years from now they will realized how much they really have loss in the long run. Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. We did have a little senority, but we are now back at the bottom of the barrel. Maybe Donna will give her salary or raises that she is not going to take back to the citizens. But we all know that thats' just a politican being a politican. Good Luck to a distict that had worked so hard to get ahead, but all I see ahead for us is more of what we had when Hoyer was our Congressman.

Well the 4th Congressional District is a strange and misunderstood district. Al has his faults and Donna does too. It seems a lot of people over the years cheer Al's name when he was a State Legislator and Congressman. Now, look what going to happen to federal employee, elderly, and youth losing a voice. Okay, Donna is a very smart and has vision, but so does George Mitchell! If the 4th can wake up and smell the coffee your in for a rude wake up! I am proud to see to be elected new blood, but she is a token African American women.

I am just upset that with all the negativity and false/true campaign ad's I watch a person for the people far hard. Prince George's and Montgomery County's really need's to wake up. We still have an economical divide between the two counties, much success to her and to her vision. I will never give her the respect as an elected official.

We all have wants' and needs voters, but when you have such a weak platform. How dumb are we!

1. War - I would want my Rep. to protect were I live in the Washington D.C. suburbs. They hit the Pentagon who to say they bomb downtown Silver Spring.

2. Bankruptcy - read the vote and stops believing everything you hear. I am starting to question is the 4th district Smarter than a 5th grader.

If everyone just wake-up Donna never pass the bar to become an attorney, didn't want the Wayne Curry project (Harbor Project). Also the ICC, oh yea watch how she will please the environment people now Mo Co! She will give a lame reason! She going to be in the bed with Republicans, out state endorsers, and with those same companies she claim's Al was getting money from.

Lastly she is going to get those ten pay raises now to with all those perks. I am going to walk around and video tape her in action too. (If anyone who is intelligent to know that is illegal to do!)

Go luck 4th District you vote for the Donna and now you're going to need it! Now, all I wish for Christmas is a true champion to knock off Hoyer who is just as corrupt!

I am glad to see Albert Wynn go. Maybe this will wake him up to realize his job was to respond to the citizens. We put him and we can take him out. Good luck Ms.Edwards, we wish you the best.
