Voting in D.C.
Voted this morning in Petworth and it was fantastic- a small line but overall efficient and smooth process. There were Obama campaigners there but no one from Clinton's camp. I guess she had already given up on DC.

I voted in DC in Precinct 17 (1518 M Street NW) at 8:15. The line was long and got longer as I waited. The only problem was that the "vote processing machine" was not working and thus our ballots were simply put in a holding slot in the machine and not scanned. I am hoping that our votes get counted.

I voted this morning in precinct 15 on the way to work. The line was short, and everything went smoothly.
I think I may have been the first Statehood voter my polling place saw today, or at least the first who chose paper over electronic voting. They had to break open a fresh package of ballots for me and the ballot machine operator was momentarily thrown by the pink color, but there were no problems and I was in and out in just under 10 minutes.

I observed a lot of OLD PERSONS and wondered where are the young folks. And the sad part is... if Obama, who has energized the voters loses, they wont come back out in November.

I voted this morning in Mt. Pleasant. I had to wait in line for about 30 minutes, which had more to do with the extremely slow elderly lady checking in the A-Hs than a huge turnout. Either way, by 8:45am, the machine had counted 207 votes, not including touch-screen voters.
Obama supporters and statehood activists were outside the precinct -- Hillary nowhere to be seen. My favorite part of the experience was when a ~4 year old girl started chanting "Barack Obama" (not at her parent's request!), everyone cracked up and someone jokingly yelled "hey, no electioneering in here!"

Vote Hillary!

Overall, pretty smooth and easy in precinct 5 on 31st st NW at around 8:50am. There was a little disorganization with the check-in (Q through Z at the middle table?), but the ballot clerks were sweet. When asked if I preferred electronic or paper, I just told them to give me whatever was easiest. Since they had a line forming at the sole machine, I went old school analog and penciled it in. Took no more than 15 minutes.
I did notice the lack of young folks though (but that's Georgetown for you), and at 29, I think I was easily the youngest there.

I voted in Columbia Heights tonight (Columbia Rd. location). It didn't go so smoothly there. I entered the building at 6:45pm and was out at 8:15. Problem was that they ran out of ballots at 2pm, and those running the polls could not obtain any more. There was only 1 computer, so we had to vote 1 at a time.
On the bright side, turnout was great (hence the long line) and very diverse in both age and race, reflecting the CH location. And the poll workers were doing a very good job considering the tense circumstances and the minimal staffing.

It may feel great to vote, but it isn't going to feel good when the Democratic insiders disenfranchise us again with their "superdelegates".
That's their hedge against letting the people's voice count.
