Advancis Changes Name to MiddleBrook Pharmaceuticals, Inc

The Germantown pharmaceutical company will still focus on developing and commercializing anti-infective products but it needed to take a new identity to settle a dispute over its original name with European drug maker sanofi-aventis.

The company said it will change its NASDAQ trading symbol to MBRK, effective with the start of trading on June 29.
