Digging Up the Streets in Manassas
Verizon said it has begun laying fiber optic cable in Manassas and Manassas Park to bring high-speed Internet and possibly television services to the Northern Virginia communities.
The company said it still must obtain cable franchises from the city councils in Manassas and Manassas Park in order to offer video service. Verizon currently has franchises with neighboring Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties, as well as other municipalities in Virginia. It also has launched several franchises in Maryland.
