InPhonic Names New Finance Chief

InPhonic, a District company that sells cellphones and wireless service over the Internet, announced today the hiring of Kenneth D. Schwarz as its new chief financial officer. InPhonic's finance chief Lawrence Winkler resigned in June, two months after the company announced it would restate results for the second and third quarters of 2006 to correct errors in the way it recorded revenue from wireless carriers. The company filed revised results last month that showed a $63.7 million loss for 2006. (See their annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.) Schwartz previously worked at Intersections, a Chantilly-based provider of identity-theft protection services.
