Mom Made Food, Then a Business

Heather Stouffer founded Mom Made Foods in May 2006 in Alexandria, making organic frozen foods for children. The business came to be after she couldn't find baby foods she liked and made her own, Sharon McLoone reports at the Small Business blog. Stouffer is still the business's only full-time employee, though she works with an accountant, lawyer, dietitian and her director of taste testing, Emory, 3.
