United Therapeutics Profit Up 147 Percent
United Therapeutics of Silver Spring said second-quarter profit grew 147 percent, to $14.3 million (59 cents a share) from $5.8 million (26 cents) in the comparable period a year earlier. Revenue grew 32 percent, to $68.6 million.
"It is gratifying that we are on track to grow our annual revenues in excess of 30% for the sixth consecutive year," said CEO Martine Rothblatt. "I am also pleased that, after twelve years of operations, our accumulated deficit has been eliminated."
