Welcome to Washington Post Investigations
From Watergate to the Abramoff lobbying scandal and the mistreatment of veterans at Walter Reed, The Washington Post has long been committed to investigative journalism. Now we have a home on the Web for the kind of work that holds government, business and other institutions accountable for their actions.
The goal of this blog and archive is to brief you every day about The Post's latest investigative news and projects. We will provide updates on our continuing investigations and the results that they bring. When appropriate, we will give inside accounts of how we work and give readers a chance to discuss articles with the reporters and editors.
We also will direct you to notable projects and reports produced by other news organizations around the country and the world.
Finally, we encourage you to use this site to give us your tips about what to investigate, your comments and thoughts on the news and ideas about how we can continue to improve our Web page.
Thanks for visiting.

The Washington Post's permanent investigative unit was set up in 1982 under Bob Woodward.
