Unfortunately I believe that we are limited in what we can focus on. I think that if we proceed with the partisan sideshow of prosecuting Bush admin. officials, healthcare will get lost in the brouhaha.

Questions Surround Palin as Speech Nears

POSTED: 04:32 PM ET, 09/ 3/2008 by Derek Kravitz

Sarah Palin
Sen. John McCain stands with Gov. Sarah Palin after arriving in Minneapolis, Minn., on day three of the Republican National Convention. (Keith Bedford/Bloomberg News)

Hours before Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to take the stage and speak at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, questions are still swirling for Sen. John McCain's new running mate.

— McCain was "least familiar personally" with Palin, compared to his other potential veep choices, The Post's Dan Balz reports today.

He did not speak face to face to his new running mate until last Thursday morning at his retreat in Sedona, Ariz., and aides say they tracked down information about the other finalist, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, up until the day Palin was finally selected. (The Wall Street Journal notes that the man in charge of the veep vetting process for McCain, attorney and former President Reagan aide Arthur B. Culvahouse Jr., is facing added scrutiny.)

A Republican strategist with close ties to the McCain campaign told The Los Angeles Times, however, that Palin was a "last-minute choice" after McCain gave up on his favorite, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).

"He did so with such speed that they weren't able to do the full vet," the GOP source told The Times. The source did not want to be identified discussing the campaign's "internal machinations." (McCain's aides denied that account.)

— Among the things that Palin disclosed to McCain campaign officials: Her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol Palin, was five months pregnant (the father, boyfriend Levi Johnston, traveled with the family to the convention. The couple plans to marry.); her husband, Todd Palin, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 1986, when he was 22 (which the Christian Broadcast Network News first reported earlier this week, noting that the arrest would probably do little to "dampen" Palin's support among evangelicals, who are "all about grace and redemption"); and that Palin pleaded guilty to using a drift gillnet to harvest salmon from the Bristol Bay area in 1993 without an annual permit.

Opposition research, obtained by Politico.com and largely culled from newspaper reports, also surfaced. Some of the findings:

Palin admitted to smoking marijuana but said she didn't like it. "I can't claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled," she told The Anchorage Daily News in 2006.

Long before "Troopergate," Palin fired another police chief: Irl Stambaugh, Wasilla's top cop who Palin told others was intimidating, according to the Frontiersman. He later sued the city for gender discrimination and claimed he was fired because he "stepped on the toes of Palin's campaign contributors, including bar owners and the National Rifle Association," according to ABC News.

Palin presided over a wedding as Wasilla mayor at the local Wal-Mart in 1999. ''It was so sweet,'' said Palin, who fought back tears during the nuptials, according to the Daily News. "It was so Wasilla." She also drove to a Costco to see Ivana Trump, adding that Alaska was desperate for any "semblance of glamour and culture." (For more highlights, check out Editor & Publisher's take on the Alaska newspaper archives.)

Dear concerned citizens of America and mass media of the U.S.A.

As a concerned disabled American Veteran and American citizen, I consider it my duty and responsibility to address the following critical issues facing the voters of our Greatgrand nation, the United States of America [USA].

The citizens of the United States of America [USA] have the ultimate power and responsibility to elect the Right Ticket with the right joint "temperament, judgment, and statesmanship" to lead our nation as well as change our nation's present and future moral, political, economic, educational, health care, energy, military, and foundational soul.

In my firm professional, personal, and political opinion, the media should help the common voter to explore and discuss the following attributes of the present Republican and Democratic presidential slates:

1. Does the joint ticket have a calm, cool, and collected " temper and impulse" [Presidential Temperament]?
2. Does each ticket have sound and sustained "Judgment and Caliber"?
3. Does each ticket have a "presidential depth and degree" in regard to their purpose, policies, and positions?
4. Does each ticket have adequate, "understanding and knowledge" of workings around Washington"?
5. Does each ticket have enough "vigor, wisdom and Vision" for the future of our beloved Great-grand Nation?
6. Does each ticket possess enough joint foreign policy experience and ex-poser based on "American Values, Virtues, Vastness, and strong soul"?
7. Are their campaign talk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, and impulsivity?

If your answer to a majority of the above questions is yes, I suggest you vote for that ticket. As a Independent registered voter I have decided to vote for Obama-Biden ticket. I am sure they will protect our national security, Strong's, stamina and strong soul. Rebuild our nation from bottom up in all areas of need, OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will once again restore and rebuild our global standing with the use of maximum international humane diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated.

Yours sincerely,

COL. A.M. Khajawall [Ret] MD., Forensic psychiatrist, Colonel, US-AR / MC Combat Stress Control[Ret], Disabled American Veteran and Iraq Freedom team.

MCCAIN IS THE BIGGEST PERVERT ALIVE!!
McCain's first wife was a 1.Beauty Queen, no substance. He cheated on her and his children with many women while his wife was crippled and trying to recover from a bad crash.

Mccain lies abouts his age to meet another 2.Beauty Queen while cheating on his wife, files for a marriage license while married and still living with his wife and kid's.
Now McCain pick's another 3. Beauty Queen who is turning out to be the biggest bust in the World of VP choices.
WHAT IS IT WITH MCCAIN AND BEAUTY QUEENS??

LOOK AT THIS PERVERT ON YOUTUBE LOOKING AT PALIN ARSE AND SMILING!!

Such a pervert he is!!

So if Alaska does put into motion secession from this great Union, will it ask for military help from Russia? Canada?

As a lower 48+1er, I am against any secession. A deal is a deal and we paid for Alaska in cold cash money.

Why do I feel like I'm on the Daily Show???

Explain why Levi Johnston shouldn't be arrested as a pedophile, that's what she needs to do. Does she support pedophilia when it envolves her children?

This is his second child; the first was with a 13 year old girl. Even by Alaskan standards (which are very loose) that is a bit young.

Sick.... really sick... yea, we want her in the White House. Her and her husband are good evangelicals, and typical of the breed. But lets move on to other issues.

Will she support states that wish to secede from the United States, since her and her husband were both in a party pushing to have Alaska secede from the Union?

Will she legalize pot since she smokes it herself?

Will she start supporting unwed mothers, particularly teens so they can finish an education through college?

Susan Eisenhower: Barack is the best choice (CNN Interview)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1Kmsv8-Jzk&feature=related

When Dwight Eisenhower's granddaughter Susan said "Yes we can!" over 84,000 supporters at the Democrat Convention cheered her on and yelled "Yes we can!"

My Favorite Eisenhower Story From Wikipedia. Dwight could have been a Professional Football player?

At West Point, Eisenhower made the football team. He started as a varsity running back and linebacker in 1912. In a bit of a fabled match-up, he even tackled the legendary Jim Thorpe in a 1912 game.

This is such a joke, what a joke, Palin as a VP, you might as well have picked Paris Hilton at least she isn't as stupid to get pregnant at 17. Oh and Paris would have done good for the country :)

I am a Democrat but would have been honored to meet Governor Palin in Alaska when visiting there. I profoundly disagree with her hard-right evangelical politics and overly simplistic approach to, well, just about any topic, but I assume the voters of Alaska knew all that when they elected her. I've seen pictures of her in a short leather skirt as newly elected governor, and honestly, I think it's a charming statement of grrrl power. As for the allegations of abuse of power, there is a bipartisan-supported investigation underway and I suppose we should await the results. That would have been a good way to settle the matter had she remained simply the governor of Alaska.

However...

The problem here is that a little known, relatively new governor of a low-population, largely rural state, who adheres to extremist political views (teaching creationism in schools, open to banning books in libraries, no abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or for the health of the mother, and so on), and who is under an ethics investigation, is being presented to us as -- believe it or not -- fully qualified to serve as commander in chief from January forward, should anything happen to John McCain. I assume she is also to be considered his governing partner and near equal in the meantime.

This says nothing bad about Sarah Palin, but it says something awful about John McCain's temperament and judgment. There are very few presidential decisions made before November 4 by the candidates. This is the big one. And he blew it. Nobody can honestly defend McCain's gravitas or maturity in making this decision, or the peculiar result he arrived at, or the haste and carelessness with which the decision was executed. John McCain is simply not qualified to be president of the United States. I'm sorry he had to expose the Palin family to the light of national attention to prove it.

- - - ABOUT VETTING - - - -

Had Obama been vetted re Wright before the first nine primaries (March 13), Clinton would be the democratic candidate today. After that it was nip and tuck in the voting, and she almost won even with the nine loss handicap. Now the Obama supporter hypocrites hoot about Palin not being vetted. What a bunch of shallow losers.

Ah, no. Make that lower America. She represents the lower class. Heck, her future son-in-law is an admitted F---ing Redneck. That's his words, not mine.

People who brag about being rednecks do so because they have NO ASPIRATIONS.

Spoken like someone who has never lived in "Middle America"...

Listen, if this was going down in a small town in Iowa (like the one I grew up in) Sarah Palin would get ripped to shreds for being a horrible mother, people would say nasty, nasty things about the moral character of the teenage daughter and everyone would say Sarah Palin was a bleeping bleep of some sort (I love how folks back home can use profanity as a qualifier to other profanity...folks here are amateurs at cussing...probably because they don't recognize the art in good cussing).

Would it be fair for those folks to feel that way about Mrs. Palin? Maybe. Maybe not. But that IS how these things play in Middle America.

Why are these questions never asked of Obama? Even after 2 years?

Palin has run government offices from small to large. Obama gave a speech. It's amazing how similar the treatment of Hillary mirrors this.

The sexist double standards of liberals is on trial here. And the libs are losing big.

Only John McCain has provided a LIFETIME of SERVICE to our Country. Neither Mr. Obama nor Mr. Biden ever served our country's Military as a first priority when they were young adults.

As Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin clearly has more exectutive and leadership experience than Junior Senator Barack Obama.

Palin commands Alaska's state budget of four billion dollars a year, her national guard, the state's energy legislation, the state troopers, and the list goes on and on.

On the other hand, the Junior Senator has no direct reports.

The Republican second string has more experience than the Democratic first string is what it comes down to!

And that's funny!

Posted by: Ted | September 3, 2008 5:33 PM

Palin must really scare the media if they are going after her in such a way. The mainstream media only tends to attack conservatives in this way when they feel that one will actually be successful.

The media should try to report the facts and leave tabloid news to the tabloids. I only want to know what her record is and what she stands for. There is no need for such emphasis on her family or on the fact that she was a runner-up in a beauty contest.

Posted by: Dawndee | September 3, 2008 5:35 PM

Police recruits go through a deep background check & Palin would never have passed theirs, yet here she stands. The public is her employer and paycheck so they have every right to her life's details. How dare McCain tell us we have no right to her secrets while she is running for the 2nd highest position in the U.S. and possibly the 1st position because at the rate he's going, McCain may soon blow a gasket.

Posted by: Barbara | September 3, 2008 5:36 PM

I love to see Democrats squirming. When they resort to this name-calling and class-baiting, we get to see them for who they really are. It's sad that they can't accept other people for who they are.
Well, they will have another four years to sulk about it.

Why is it that the only thing you read on liberal blogs is personal attacks? Could it be that they can't present a logical argument based on positions? McCain a pervert? Give me a break. As far as Palin is concerned, the only thing I've heard about her this week is that her husband was arrested 20 years ago on a DUI and that her daughter is pregnant. (Not to mention the gossip on the liberal blogs that her daughter is not her own.) What about her positions, experience, etc? The media needs to get out of the gutter and report on what counts.

Posted by: bill | September 3, 2008 5:38 PM

In all due respect Col.Khajawal, but if you answered your own laundry list truthfully you would be voting a step closer to Nationalism rather than Marxism. I think you better do a more thorough job of vetting your choices rather and voting candidates who happen to win you over with hype and celebrity. Why are 99% of the military retired and active voting McCain?

The media "attack dogs" are going to steer this election. I think the general voting public will rear up and cast a vote that will blow everyone away. Just wait and see. Furthermore, Post needs to follow through on their "posting rules" noted above. More problematically, this statment is equally accurate when modified to read as follows:

The problem here is that a little known, relatively new Senator of a crime and poverty ridden state with a failing education system, who adheres to extremist political views (presumably attributable to his primarly male roles models, Communist Frank Marshall Davis and racist Reverend "God d@#$ America" Wright), and who is under investigation in connection with the trial of indicted felon Tony Rezko and Iraqi billionaire Nadhmi Auchi, who is wanted by Interpol, is being presented to us as -- believe it or not -- fully qualified to serve as commander in chief from January forward.

This says nothing bad about Barack Obama, but it says something awful about the temperament and judgment of Democratic Party power brokers and their media flunkies. There are very few presidential decisions made before November 4 by the candidates. This is the big one. And they blew it. Nobody can honestly defend the Democratic Party's gravitas or maturity in making this decision, or the peculiar result they arrived at, or the haste and carelessness with which the decision was executed. Barack Obama is simply not qualified to be president of the United States.

And where you've got a lack of qualification at the top of the ticket (Obama) versus a lack of qualification at the bottom (Palin), the top of the ticket is going to lose every time.

The Democratic Party powerbrokers should have vetted Obama better before hitching their star to this son of a 24-year-old married father of two from Kenya and an 18-year-old girl from Kansas who'd never had a boyfriend.

If there is any question about Gov. Someday the Christian right is going to wake up and realize they are being used. Do they really think this government is going to support their issues?

I'm not voting for this woman. Looking at her life, she doesn't seem like an honest person. I'm not judging, and I hope her family is going to be alright, but I really get a gut feeling that she isn't honest. Honesty is important to me. Perhaps I am naive!

Here's McCain's conversation last Thursday to pick his veep. McCain: We need to jazz this campaign up. Get me a woman, I need a woman for my veep - it will energize the Republicans. Advisors: But what qualified candidate can we get at this late date? McCain: We don't need qualified - just go pick a cute one. We'll pass her off as our Hiliary. Everyone will like her. She will be "our" history-making candidate - two can play this game. Just make sure she cuter than Hiliary. But not more than my wife - can't lose her assets.

By this same warped logic, she is more experienced than John McCain. I like to know what executive experience McCain had.

So sad. Just really, really sad. McCain was so convinced that the Hillary supporters would rally around any VP with a vagina that he selected a laughing stock as his running mate.

"Explain why Levi Johnston shouldn't be arrested as a pedophile, that's what she needs to do. Does she support pedophilia when it envolves her children?"

Ooh, easy one... because 16 is the consenting age in Alaska.

Now your turn...
Explain how Barack Obama doesn't believe the America should be dam*ed by God - as his pastor has told him for 20 years, or maybe why he endorsed the crook Kirkpatrick, or maybe what plans he helped Ayers with, or even why he took a big discount from Rezko, the slum lord, who's in prison now?

Also, tell me why Mr. Obama thinks he is experienced enough to be a President when he has commanded nothing, managed nothing, and is less experienced than our Wildcat Republican VP candidate.

Also, tell me why Mr. Obama didn't think about joining the military and serving our country at a young age, like his opponent did, or why he hasn't provided a whole life of service to the public. Was he too strung out on crack?

Also, tell me why B.H.O. stood by and did nothing why he let his campaign and media contacts tear apart Hillary with sexist and racist stories, and THEN passed Hillary up as a VP selection.

Here's one more, tell me how it makes any sense at all that Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, who made more than $4,000,000 dollars last year is actually asking Mr. McCain who made a comparatively meager salary of only $400K why he has a 8 houses?

It's the lefty's that need to do some explainin' here, not Sarah Palin

The big revelation now is that McCain didn't fully vet Palin, well it's lucky we have investigative reporters to tell us that because I never could have guessed. Palin would have been a rediculous character in a cheap comedy about how low our political system has gone, but this is really happening. Instead of McCain saying, you know I made a mistake, he is behaving like Bush after he knew that there was no chance of finding WMD in Iraq. It takes a smart and considered thinker to make important decisions, but even a smart man will sometimes make mistakes. It takes a real man to admit when he has made a mistake. Bush isn't a real man and McCain isn't a big man.

Palin may play well in the most rural, poorest educated state in the nation, but in the real world McCain's VP pick seems completely absurd. I like some of what McCain has to say, and he used to be a pretty cool guy but as the stress is building it is becomming apparent that he does not have what it takes to make the important decisions for America. I'm sorry but no matter how I look at it I cannot see how McCain thought that Palin would be a reasonable choice.

Posted by: captbilly | September 3, 2008 6:11 PM

What was McCain thinking when he decided to pick Palin? If Palin can't control her household and ended up with a 17 year old pregnant, what is she going to do with our nation! McCain is 72 years old! If something happens to him, I don't want Palin to be president. She's going to have a tough time negotiating with other countries.
I'm a republican but I'm going the other direction because I want to see the U.S.A. to continue as the world leader. This tells me McCain can't make good choices. I don't feel safe with a 44 year old woman as a V.P.--What is going on!

I know that Palin and all the Palin grandkids will have be a great first family should the need arise. I also look forward to the repeal of Roe v. Wade and for more religious and gun freedom in our schools.

Get it? If you don't like the freedom of CHOICE we have in this country, then I suggest you move to Iran or Saudi Arabia. You'd fit in much better.

I honestly didn't want Obama but I guess McCain made it easier for me to make up my mind.
McCain was tested and he failed big time!
I'm curious to why he would picked Palin. Is he trying to get a message across about family value? You camem across loud and clear to me. I wouldn't want Palin to fix our problems in this world when she can't even take care of her family.
Obama! Here I come!

Posted by: Ruta | September 3, 2008 6:19 PM

I agree with Susie, Sara Palin as president doesn't make me feel safe. What if she has to meet with some head from the Middle East? She is a woman who isn't well versed in foreign policy or trained for this position, and she'll be treated like...a beauty queen? I suppose she will be leered at, but will she be respected? Will our country be respected?

Sarah Palin is a disaster for this country. I have no problem at all moving away from McCain to Obama now.

Choosing a VP is considered to be the single most important decision a candidate has to make before election day.
By choosing Palin, McCain has failed miserably by putting his own political survival above the interests of the country.

Going by the Palin cheerleaders' qualifications, Mrs. Palin is more qualified to be president than their own presidential nominee - last time I checked, John McCain has only been a congressman and a senator.

But being the governor of Alaska is hardly a qualifier. Neither is being a small town mayor in Alaska.

Like McCain, you're grasping at that last hope. This is not a sexist statement, though I'm sure many on the other side will disagree, but being a mother of an infant with Down's should disqualify her for the job.
Given the "family values" BS the conservative right preaches, the pro-abstinence stance that the VP-nominee espouses (look it up mouth breathers) also parroted by the conservative right, yet has a 17 year old daughter pregnant out of wedlock, and you say Obama has the problem.

All I can say is keep it up, you're already the minority anyway. Thanks to the moron you call "Dubya" and the rest of the Republicans and the issues THEY created that America has endured the last 8 years, your complete irrelevance will soon come to fruition.

So...
Thanks!

Palin is a fraud perpetrated on the American people.

-Stood up to the 'Oil Companies'? She wants to drill in ANWR--just what the oil companies want.

-Stood up to her corrupt republican party? She ran a 527 to support indicted Sen. Ted Stevens.

-Stood up against earmarks? She supported the Bridge to Nowhere, hired lobbyist to get $27 million in federal earmarks for her town of 7,000.

Don't believe the hype!

A big fat plate of political bullshat! Eat it up!

Sexism is alive and well in America. Nancy Pelosi is third in line to be the President as Speaker of the House. She has five children. Where are the leftist commentators who said that Palin should stay at home to stay with her children. The only difference, in this case, is that one's a Republican and the other is a Democrat. Yes, sexism is alive and well in America.

Posted by: Jim | September 3, 2008 7:56 PM

Wow ... that sure was a shortened list. Aaaahh well, I guess the stuff that came out yesterday and today will get posted later.

Like the Palin's association with the AIP. She and her husband were members. She even gave an address to their convention A MONTH AGO! Fun quote from the AIP founder:

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag!"

Oh yeah ... these are REAL patriots! What do we actually know about them really?!? Everything we keep finding out is terrifying!

Posted by: otto | September 3, 2008 8:10 PM

Pelosi is a CONGRESSWOMAN who's children were grown long before she became speaker of the house. She took care of her family FIRST then followed her career. Palin would do well to take an example.

I want a VP who gives America 100% of their attention. WTF, do we tell Putin: "wait a minute, let me whip out my breast pump ... this'll just take a sec."

There is a time and place for everything. And for every time there is a season. This is the wrong time and season for Palin to try and learn how to run a country. Yeah, let's implement an executive on the job training program while the nation is at war!

Is the GOP kidding?

Posted by: kgb999 | September 3, 2008 8:16 PM

Based on how much the media dislikes Palin she must be a good choice. The best thing for America is to listen to the media and do the opposite.

Posted by: Robert G. | September 3, 2008 8:16 PM

I will never understand how anyone is able to support a McCain/Palin presidency. She doesn't have enough experience by far and is surrounded by scandal; McCain is a bomb waiting to explode.

I wouldn't want people like that running the country even further into the ground.

I'm voting for the Obama/Biden ticket. This country will be a much better place with them at the wheel.

McCain/Palin will drive you into a brick wall.

Cheers!

But when a notable, respected member of McCain's team says the coverage has been neither sexist nor driven by Obama, you have to listen.

What about her husbands long time ties to a treasonous, secessionist political party? Is that not a important question?

Posted by: Country-First not Alaska | September 3, 2008 8:39 PM

If Gov. Palen subscribes to the fundie belief that wives should "submit to the servant leadership of their husbands," someone should ask her if she will submit to the secessionist views of her hubbie, who is a card-carrying member of the subversive Alaska Independence Party.

Given the lack of evidence of any thought of birth control in this family we could have a pregnant VP.
That would be interesting.
Perhaps they could name this one Washington.

Posted by: redwing | September 3, 2008 9:44 PM

Linda Lingle says Obama/Biden have zero executive experience. So does that mean Palin is more qualified than McCain? McCain also has zero executive experience. McCain has never been a governor or a mayor. McCain has just thrown his "experience" argument out the window.

Sarah Heath Palin heiress to Hershey fortune.

Heath Brothers Confectionery was established in Robinson, Illinois, in 1914.

The recipe for the HEATH English toffee bar was perfected by the Heath brothers in 1928. In 1932, the Heaths inched their way into the national market and moved their factory to a small town in Idaho.

The candy bar was made completely by hand until 1942 when the plant was modernized. During World War II, the U.S. Government contracted with Heath to produce bars for military distribution. This was the beginning of a new base of consumers.

During the 70s and 80s the business grew and many new products and package types were added. Heath was purchased by Leaf in 1989. The Heath family retained a sizeable number of shares in the company.

Hershey Foods Corporation acquired the Leaf North American confectionery operations from Huhtamaki Oy of Helsinki, Finland in 1996.

My understanding is that age of consent in Alaska is 16. I also was confused about the comment about more gun freedom in the schools. Was that a typo?

I was born and reared in the state of Indiana and now live in the Pacific Northwest. I would call Indiana, Middle America, certainly not Sand Point, Idaho or anywhere in Alaska. I have African American friends who won't set foot in Sand Point and others who would not attend a conference in Coeur d'Alene because of racial bigotry, whether actual or perceived, I'm not sure.

As a Christian brought up with wholesome Midwestern values, I can honestly say that I was never indoctrinated into this sort of "christianity" that neglects and disenfranchises the poor. This sort of "christianity" that says God created the earth and its creatures for our enjoyment, so we should just abuse and use it all up. I was not brought up with this sort of "christianity" that goes to war, that kills. Cristianity follows the teachings of Christ. Jesus was a lover and teacher of peace. Jesus didn't see cultural barriers, he loved and blessed foreigners. Jesus was a servant to others. God help our warped and self-serving interpretation of Scripture.

[Danger to country and countries mission[s].
8. Ultimate irony is he stool change message and uses Palin to kill the messenger. Maverick McCain not good for USA and White House.

As a Independent registered voter I have decided to vote for Obama-Biden ticket. I am sure they will protect our national security, Strong's, stamina and strong soul. Rebuild our nation from bottom up in all areas of need, OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will once again restore and rebuild our global standing with the use of maximum international firm diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated.

Yours sincerely,

COL. A.M. Khajawall [Ret] MD., Forensic psychiatrist, Colonel, US-AR / MC Combat Stress Control[Ret], Disabled American Veteran and Iraq Freedom team.

PS: This nation will not buy into kitchen sink strategy. We are getting deeper into internal and external holes thru these attacks and world is laughing on us and enjoying our partisan Pitt Bull wounds. I am sure GOP.RC, FOX, RUSH, ROVE.And McCain's his surrogates will fail to dupe, deceive, and deprive USA its deserved leadership.

Who would believe the republicans would bring in the first true communist subversive to our government. The left should give this woman a chance. Last year, 2007, Alaska's legislature approved a major increase on those windfall profits on the oil industry. The state of Alaska has received more than $10 billion this year from oil revenue. Thanks to the addition of these new taxes, that is double the amount it received the year before. The idea on how to spend the money comes from Alaska's governor Sarah Palin. Her administration now gives $1,200 to every single Alaskan to help them pay for gas. On top of that, each resident will receive an annual dividend of $2,000 from an oil-wealth savings account. Think what a family of 7 could do with that money (Gov. Palin has 7 members in her family). That's a fancy way of describing wealth redistribution , i.e., downright communism. And that is real change we can believe in. Will she do the same for the Lower 48 states?
