Ernie Is Extended

The Wizards just announced that they have reached terms of a multi-year contract extension with president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld. Don't know many details yet but I'll be talking to Ernie soon and will write on it in detail for tomorrow's paper. The move is somewhat of a formality because it's obvious that owner Abe Pollin is thrilled with the job Grunfeld has done. Pollin was practically beaming when I talked to him this summer following the signing of Darius Songaila and loves the direction of his team.
