Butler, Jamison back and Gilbert "figured it out"
The WiIzards will be whole again tonight against the Atlanta Hawks because Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison will be back in the starting lineup but here's what Wiz fans should really be focused on: I spoke with Gilbert Arenas earlier today and he said he's "figured it out." He was speaking of course, about his recent bad stretch of shooting. Gilbert has periodically talked about a sore right shoulder and today, he met with one of the team doctors who, according Gilbert, discovered a problem with his right clavicle.
"He said it was pushed in and that' s why I didn't have my normal range of motion," Arenas said. "So he messed around with it, popped something back into place and now I feel a lot better."
The injury goes back to a collission Arenas had with sturdy Bucks forwards Ruben Patterson back in December and Arenas sait it has affected his shooting motion and his range. Over the past 12 games, Arenas had made 19 of 101 three-point attempts and it's been obvious that something hasn't been right with his stroke.
I've seen too many times when he releases a shot and immediately starts running where he thinks the rebound is going to be. That's not Gilbert, who thinks the problem is now solved.
"I won't have my long range shot, not yet, that's going to a take awhile but I my mid-range shot is going to be fine," Arenas said. "The hibachi is back baby!"
