Butler: "It's going to be awhile"
I'm sitting courtside here at Conseco Fieldhouse where the Wizards lead 49-46 at halftime. I just saw Caron Butler chat with athletic trainer Eric Waters and Butler mouthed the words: "I'm done." He started on that sore left knee and made 1 of 2 shots with 1 rebound in 12 first quarter minutes but he's obviously not feeling right.
As the team left the court, I made eye contact with Caron and he said: "I'm done" and "It's going to be awhile." I'll find out more after the game but "awhile" certainly doesn't sound good. The Wiz are 0-3 without Butler this season and they went 0-5 without him late last season when he was down with a thumb injury.

"It's going to be awhile."
Sounds like surgery to me. :(
Two words: Andray Blatche
The Wiz can win if they start him. Arenas feeds off of Jamison, that's pretty clear. Blatche can rebound and chip in with a dozen or so and definately get a few boards.
If they start Hayes forget it.
The Pacers are horrid, I knew that trade was a bad one and everyone on TV swore it was so great for them. They really mailed tonight in and deserved to get booed. I dout O'neal is a Pacer next year.
The one thing about this time of year many of the bad teams play that way and Wiz have 14 more of those to play out of thier next 20.
I'm really interested in hearin what happens with Caron. Thanks Ivan. :)

"I chatted with Andray before the game and though he's dissapointed"
Didn't see this before, how stupid is that move? He's going to leave the Wiz and be awesome for someone else.
Can't wait for Jordan to get fired. He's really a dumb a$$.

Ray, I don't the Wizards will let Blatche walk out the door without a fight. And I think his minutes will go up with Butler out.

Ray, supposedly the Xrays have turned up nothing on Caron's knee so that does not sound like surgery is needed.

Don't bet on that George. All it takes is someone to offer him a deal like Jeffries got and he's gone.
The thing that kills me is Jordan. I keep telling myself that EG was NOT the one that hired him, that was Mr. Polin. EG gave him the extension, but there's no way EG can't see what is going on right now.
The Wiz aren't going to win a championship this year, they should let Blatche play.
And thanks Lisa. :)

my thoughts exactly ray.
what are they waiting for? Blatche should be getting consistent minutes now to develop him for the future. DNPs and 3 minute nights arent helping anyone.

Ray, I agree with you comment. I don't understand EJ's coaching philosophy. How can you tighten your rotation and not include Andre. Sure the kid makes a mistake or two here and there but I would rather have him in the game then Hayes. Once again Hayes was 3 of 7 and that is not good to me. I think he is a great guy but I get upset everytime he puts him in the game. I hope we don't lose Blatche next year, I really do. Or Stevenson for that matter. T

With everyone else healthy this is the right time to sit for Butler. I would rather him sit and come back whole than be a shadow of himself the rest of the season.
Even though the team is struggling. At least the Wizards put together a pretty good effort. They need to put together 2 or 3 in a row like this before I am excited.
