Live from Philly

The Wizards put a real beating on the Sixers at VC back on Nov. 20 so you would expect to see Philly come out with some real energy. Philly (4-10) is coming off a home loss to Utah on Wednesday night but has been playing better ball since the 116-101 loss in DC. Also, the team got a boost by the return of three-point ace Kyle Korver.

Not a lot to update from the lockeroom this evening but I did catch a glimpse of Andray Blatche and rookies Nick Young and Dominic McGuire as they rolled in. They were wearing, and I swear this is true, matching Dickies pants and shirt combinations, you know, the kind you used to see cats wear in NWA and DOC videos back in the early 90's.

I asked Roger Mason about this and he just shook his head: "Man, I don't have anything to do with that."

Andray on the attire:: "You've heard of the big three? Well, we're the future 3." Oleksiy Pecherov isn't with the team on this trip as he continues to rehab from that ankle injury but if we see him walking around in a similar outfit, things will get really funny. Something tells me that Agent Steinberg is going to love December with all the home games coming up. Lots of blogging material, even without Gilbert around.

On a serious note, I've noticed and folks with the team have confirmed that Andray is carrying himself in a real solid manner this season. He's working hard in practice, taking care of his body and generally approaching the job like a vet. The other night in Memphis, I saw him walk into the lockeroom about an hour and a half before the game and encouraged McGuire to join him for a weight room session.

Needless to say, "The Future 3" will be huge factors as this season rolls along and so far, it appears that all three of them are coming along at a good pace.
