Wiz and Suns
Not much to update hoop wise as we get ready for Wizards/Suns here at VC tonight but I did catch Gilbert Arenas briefly in the lockeroom befor the game and the experience was, well, entertaining. Gilbert put some time in on a bike and had some fun with rookie...

Mavericks Need To Get Kidd
Sitting on my couch, watching the Dallas Mavericks' 122-109 loss to the Denver Nuggets on TNT last night, I realized two things. One, the Mavericks won't win a championship as currently constructed. And two, Dallas really, really needs to get Jason Kidd. Kidd has not asked for a trade (yet)....

Hot Suns next
I love the way my colleague, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, began his game story from last night's Phoenix at Toronto game: "The last time that Suns point guard Steve Nash created offense like this, it began a run in which they won 27 of 29 games." It...

Philadelphia Dethrones King
The Philadelphia 76ers fired team president Billy King today. They have hired New Jersey Nets general manager Ed Stefanski. Other than the team plucking somebody from a division rival, it might not seem like a strange move given the 76ers' 5-12 start. But the timing of this move is beyond...

Spinning (Yarn) With The Pearl
The best part of the Washington Wizards' long delay in retiring Earl Monroe's number was that it allowed a new generation of basketball fans - myself included - to put his career in proper perspective. I won't front. I'm way too young to have seen the man play. I was...
