The players were given a day off after getting back from Chicago late last night but will have a quick turnaround with Chris Paul and the Hornets coming to Verizon Center tomorrow evening. The Wiz won 95-92 in New Orleans thanks to DeShawn Stevenson's game-winning 3 but the Hornets...

Wiz at Bulls

Late news: Darius Songaila gets the start over Andray Blatche. Don't have an explanation because Eddie Jordan kept it quiet until just before tip-off. Interesting. Larry Hughes in the starting lineup for the Bulls tonight. He replaces Thabo Sefolosha, who has a groin problem. All hands on deck for...

From the sources I spoke with today, I can provide the following information: The Wizards are optimistic that Caron Butler will have a chance to return to basketball activity after an unspecified period of rest (it could be anything from one to three weeks depending on how he feels.)...

Sam Cassell finally got his release from the Los Angeles Clippers, making him a free agent when he clears waivers. The 38-year-old veteran has been pushing for a buyout for some time. His agent, David Falk, was in town last weekend to negotiate a deal and set a deadline of...

Thursday update

The Wizards will practice here in Chicago in about an hour and I plan on offering an update later on with as much detailed information as possible on Caron Butler's hip issue. As I posted last night, the team said a recent evaluation revealed that he has a small...

Bad news for Butler

The Wizards announced earlier tonight that injured forward Caron Butler has a small labral tear of his left hip joint. Butler has missed 10 straight games and 13 games on the season with what had been calling a strained left hip flexor. He did not make the current three-game...

It's great to be back in one of my favorite towns. Haven't been here in six years but it feels amazingly similar. I'm gong to take a look around town tomorrow. Tonight is all about Bourbon Street baby. As for the Wiz, Caron Butler did not make the trip...
