Wiz at Clippers, Butler and Daniels update
Caron Butler didn't participate in this morning's shootaround and it appears that he may miss his sixth straight game with a strained left hip flexor when the Wizards play the Clippers tonight here in Los Angeles. Antonio Daniels, who missed the last two games with a sore right ankle, did participate in shootaround and there is a good chance that he'll be in the lineup tonight.
Judging by the conversation I had with Caron the other night, there is a good chance that he will sit out of Sunday's all-star game. He made it pretty clear that his main focus is on getting healthy so he can get back out there and help this team in the second half. I think we all agree that they need a healthy Caron Butler more than they need a hurting Caron Butler in a meaningless, glorified pickup game in New Orleans.
Boston's Ray Allen would be a logical choice as Butler's replacement should he elect to sit out and Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu would be another possibility. Something could be officially announced later tonight.
