Arenas back tonight?

Gilbert Arenas participated in shootaround this morning and will meet with doctors before tonight's game against Detroit to determine whether he can be cleared to play. Arenas has been practicing and lately, he's really picked up the level of his activity. In Orlando Wednesday night, he said expected to be back "way before the playoffs" and hinted that he'd be back before the team opens a five-game road trip in Portland Tuesday night.

If doctors clear him and Arenas feels ready, tonight makes sense. It's the last home game the Wizards will play until April 2 and he'd have tomorrow to see how his knee reacts before the trip. Arenas would likely come off the bench and play limited minutes. He has been out since undergoing left knee surgery on Nov. 21 and last played in a game on Nov. 16.

The Wizards (35-33) have 14 games remaining and came into today's games in fifth-place, one half game ahead of Toronto. The Raptors host Denver today at 3:30.
