A reminder and a shamless plug

A reminder: tonight's game will be shown locally on news channel 8. Comcast has the Caps. Also, I'll be on Washington Post Live from Quicken Loans Arena before the game to talk Wizards and Cavaliers.

Check it out.

are you telling me that the game is not going to be shown if we can't get channel 8? I have directv. Hopefully nba ticket will air it.

It's on TNT nationally, so you can watch it there if you don't have NewsChannel 8.

It's just that the local broadcast with Buckhantz and Chenier is only on NewsChannel 8, not CSN, due to Caps Game 6.

Oh yeah. duh. thanks, Mark

Ugh, the age old conundrum, listen to Phil and Buck, or watch the game in HD? Phil and Buck win in a landslide.

Why the hell would the NBA have the Wizards game run during the Caps games?

Posted by: B.A.M. | April 21, 2008 3:01 PM

because the NBA is run by a mor on David Stern

Posted by: Anonymous | April 21, 2008 3:03 PM

Can someone clarify for me that the TNT broadcast won't be blacked out. I have a commitment tonight so I'm taping the game on TNT. It'd be a shame to come home to a a recording of nothing...

Posted by: Scott | April 21, 2008 3:06 PM

I don't think TNT gets blacked out, but I am not sure.

Posted by: George Templeton | April 21, 2008 3:08 PM

sure as heck ain't a white out on TNT

Posted by: Anonymous | April 21, 2008 3:09 PM

TNT won't be blacked out locally. But, I hate watching on TNT because they are biased towards Cleveland. Their whole broadcast is centered around Lebron and his Merrymen. I even heard them say the Wiz vs Lebron as if he is the whole team. But, I have to admit after that fourth quarter breakdown, he did single handedly beat the wiz in the fourth.

I hope Deshawn has learned his lesson. Be sure you can back up your talk before you take the first hit. Maybe now that he has been humbled, he will buckle down and play and keep that high school drama off the court as he should have done in the first place. Hope they can pull one out tonight. That would be major.

I am so tired of hearing cleveland cry and whine. This same crap has been going on for 3 years. Washington is so much the better team, please someone hit some 3s tonight and go on to put cleveland out of their misery!

Posted by: james | April 21, 2008 3:22 PM

Agree with the previous guy, Cleveland is a garabage team with great player and one tall goofy but decently skilled center. I have no idea why we didn't bury this team in game 1. i hope they jump out to a big lead, and continue to foul lebron.

the guy has ridiculous game but hes such a faker, he tries to act like a good boy on camera nad throws dirty elbows and talks smack off camera and on and off court. not to mention he's a crybaby and hops around like the easter bunny.

we better blow these bums out tonight.

CAVS in 4

Posted by: Skip in VA | April 21, 2008 3:51 PM

I'm sorry, but I'll take just about any national commentator over Phil Chenier. Even a biased one. Buck is OK, but just barely.

Posted by: jones-y | April 21, 2008 3:57 PM

I'm bummed about missing the potential 'dagger' call from Buck and Chenier's analysis, but maybe we'll have Hubie Brown tonight on TNT who does a great UNBIASED job of providing color. The guy who was on ESPN on Saturday was a joke when I switched over from Buck and Phil on CSN.

The key tonight is playing 48 minutes of strong D on LeBron and for our All-Stars to play like all-stars in the 4th quarter. We've got a much deeper, more talented team and its time to back it up on the court. Our role players like DeShawn, Mason, and Songaila need to step up their games like they did during the regular season or we lose that edge.

Posted by: wizfan89 | April 21, 2008 3:59 PM

wizfan, I thought Rick Carlisle (the color analyst on Saturday's game) did an unusually well-balanced job of calling a game involving Lebron versus a team without an NBA darling. In fact, during the studio show following one the Wiz's recent national games, Carlise was very positive in his comments on the team and mentioned them as one that could surprise people in the playoffs.

Posted by: kalorama | April 21, 2008 4:13 PM

Mark,

I think you can catch the local broadcast of the Wiz-Cavs game on either channel 659 or 660 on DirecTV -- probably 659. I know that 659 is listed as CSN2 and forget what 660 is, but I saw a recent Wizards game there when other events were on the other two channels.

Posted by: kyle | April 21, 2008 4:43 PM

Kyle, you're right....The game is on 659. Anyone who says to watch TNT over Phil & Buck is an idiot.

Posted by: Adam | April 21, 2008 5:15 PM

Also regular comcast will replay the Wizards game following the Caps.

So for those with DirectTV (like me):
It is on TNT and 659 (CSN+) live, then replayed on 629 (I think at 10pm).

I will probably watch it live on TNT and then watch the replay with Buck and Phil at 10!

He isn't a moron; the timing was likely done on purpose.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 21, 2008 5:24 PM

I would like to see us run our big lineup at the Cavs some tonight (Haywood, Blatche, Jamison, Butler, Arenas)!!!

Posted by: Darnell | April 21, 2008 5:25 PM

i am going to turn over a new leaf, be positive and not say anything negative about destink tonight. bcause im sure destink will at least surpass his monster averages with 40 minutes, 9 pts, 1 assist and probably 15 shots of which he'll drain a mighty 3.
go destink.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 5:42 PM

oh and btw, whatever you do ej, dont for the love of god think about playin nick young, cause he might be so lost out there that he'll forget how to play and begin kicking the ball and tackling the opposition. hes just a lost lost rook. right guys.
what a joke.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 5:44 PM

You know what drives me nuts about all of the national broadcasts? When they show Deshawn's stats next to LeBron's. He didn't say, "I'm better than LeBron." As much as I despise the crying, whining, finger-chewing overgrown man-child, everyone (even Deshawn, I would guess) knows Deshawn isn't going to outperform LeBron.

Posted by: Lou | April 21, 2008 5:55 PM

outperform lebron? heck id be happy if destink would outperform lekwame brown.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 5:58 PM

Lose that destink garbage man. Deshawn has been the glue guy for the Wiz this year. He might not be the smartest guy but dude is a soldier. How you cannot respect what he brings every night is beyond me. I'm betting you think we'd be set if we had only signed JCN and dropped DS. Go to a Cavs board with that crap.

Posted by: DT | April 21, 2008 6:11 PM

Posted by: DT | April 21, 2008 6:11 PM

get outta here with that glue crap. they tried to hand us that same garbage for years with no game jared jeffries. maybe he cant shoot but hes the wizards best defender blah blah blah. what a load. guy cant even crack the worst lineup in the league now. unfortunately destink is the exact same player. and once we rid ourselves of him, not only will he not be starting for any1, he probably wont be playin very much just like his twin jeffries.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 6:20 PM

It's hard to respect the opinion of someone who degrades a player by calling him "destink." All you're doing is marginalizing yourself and your opinions. I don't read them at all. You can think he's a poor player without insulting him. It shows a lack of maturity and seriousness on your part.

Posted by: Keithinator | April 21, 2008 6:32 PM

Not to mention the dude can't write or spell....

Posted by: Anonymous | April 21, 2008 6:44 PM

I don't read them at all.

Posted by: Keithinator | April 21, 2008 6:32 PM

then why are you commenting and how do you know what i said. dumba.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 7:21 PM

great d by destink leaping in the air and falling out of bounds as gibson easily hits a 3. wow its a good thing nick aint in or we'd probably be down by 15 by now instead of simply stinkin up the joint.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 8:01 PM

good job eddie. 27 minutes and 4 pts total between daniels and destink and we're only down by 13. so the d must be great right? gee guys and you cant even blame it on nick this time. what a crock.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 8:22 PM

wow good thing we got the glue. no points and no d. but we got glue.

Posted by: dk | April 21, 2008 8:31 PM
