Barkley: Wizards "Dumbest Team In History"

Charles Barkley has never been one to hold his tongue. And during TNT's NBA Playoff conference call yesterday, the opinionated analyst called out the Washington Wizards for their pre-playoff trash talk.

DeShawn Stevenson fired the first missile when he called LeBron James "overrated," then Gilbert Arenas begged for the Cavaliers in the first round in his blog. Now they've got Cleveland and Barkley wonders what the Wizards were thinking.

"I think the Washington Wizards have got to be the dumbest team in the history of civilization," said Barkley, who apparently hasn't seen the New York Knicks the past few seasons. "I think for them to rile up LeBron, who is the second best player in the NBA, I think that's just stupid."

I guess we can assume that Barkley won't be calling Stevenson or Arenas to get him some NBA socks for his "footsies" anytime soon.

You guys really want LeBron?(Andrew D. Bernstein/NBAE/Getty Images )

Barkley said that the Wizards' trash talk made him change his pick in the first round series. "I thought they had a chance to win that series...I don't think so anymore," Barkley said. "I think Cleveland was just going through the motions once they knew they were going to be the number four seed and now I think they're ready. I think that was just stupid for the Wizards to talk all that trash when they call LeBron 'overrated' in the middle of the season when they played. For them to think they are going to go into Cleveland (and win), they just riled up LeBron, the Cavaliers and all the fans."

Barkley added that although the Cavaliers are just 15-12 since making that huge trade for Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and Joe Smith, he believes the team is better suited for the playoffs - even though Cleveland remains the defending Eastern Conference champion.

"They've got bigger bodies," he said. "I think they are a lot better but the Celtics are (still) a lot better and you never know what the Pistons are going to do. (The Cavaliers) are better suited to make a run in the playoffs. Last year was just a fluke. This year if they get to the Finals, they are going to have to go through the Boston Celtics."

At least he is talking about the Wizards! Even if he has nothing good to say. And by the way, he was never going to pick the Wizards ... its just not in him.

Posted by: 2cents | April 16, 2008 11:59 AM

I see Barkley and Jordan's friendship is still strong. That's all that this is about. He's taken every opportunity to bash the Wiz ever since we got rid of his boy for being a poor team president/GM. Great job with Charlotte, Jordan. Great choice in Adam Morrison.
Charles Barkley is an ex player and that's all he is. He's neither a role model nor the basketball expert. While he may know more about basketball than most of us, by no means should we lay down and roll over just cuz barkley says Lebron is mad. **** LeBron. He can get mad all he wants. Fact is he can't win games by himself. If we play our game, we can beat a riled up , LeBron and Cavalier teams. After all it IS Cleveland.
As a whole, that town is (to quote Homer) one of the suckiest sucks to ever suck !
Bring 'em on. (Note to Cavs fans on this blog.."Yeah I'm talking to YOU")

Posted by: mark | April 16, 2008 11:59 AM

Barkley also predicted in the Fall that the Cavs wouldn't make the playoffs. Hopefully this prediction is just as accurate.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 12:02 PM

you know, Barkley can use his "Fav 5" thing to call Lebron and Wade to join him fishing two weeks from now on... after the wiz-cav is over.

Posted by: fire starter | April 16, 2008 12:09 PM

Barkley calling someone stupid.

Posted by: Nancy | April 16, 2008 12:12 PM

Sign to hold up in the 4th quarter of game 7, when we're winning:

Hi Charles! Who's stupid now?

(Actually, I can just hear Barkley making that statement -- Barkley's great for hyperbole. He's just being fun.)

A more interesting question: who's smarter, Cleveland fans or Washington fans?

Posted by: Nancy | April 16, 2008 12:15 PM

Good point Nancy!

Isn't that like the fat man calling the fat man fat?

Barkley's calling out the Wizards, for calling out the Cavs.

I think Barkley's the dumbest analyst in history.

Posted by: CJ Baltimore | April 16, 2008 12:24 PM

Now that I've gotten my rant out, it's probably still best to shut up now and let our play do the talking. We've said what we had to say and now let's back it up. A a fired up LeBron doesn't scare me in the least but we don't need the Cavs crowd worked up. The scrubs on the Cavs team may feed off of that energy and play above their heads (to reach average).

Posted by: mark | April 16, 2008 12:33 PM

Could it be that Charles Barkley is actually DC Man88? Just wondering.

Posted by: Gilby | April 16, 2008 12:35 PM

I think it's good that Deshawn and Gil have called out the Cavs. I'm glad they have some swag. Like Mark said, f*** Lebron. We ain't scared of him.

Posted by: Ernie Grunfeld | April 16, 2008 12:42 PM

Stevenson's instigations will have zero effect on this playoff series, other than instilling within the Wizards the attitude that Lebron is an ordinary player who can be stopped. The Wizards are a much better team. The only thing that can save the Cavaliers is the NBA suits and their referees handing them games, such as Game 1 2 years ago where they failed to call Lebron for shifting pivot feet on his game winning layup.

Posted by: Dellis | April 16, 2008 12:47 PM

Nancy: Don't worry their won't be a game seven,Wiz in six or under and who cares what fat boy has to say who died and left him as the great predictor!!! LeBron's not Wilt so unless the ref take the game's away from the Wiz this is gonna be fun to watch Letravel swinging and twisting in the wind, the pressure is on the Cav's not the Wiz.

Posted by: | April 16, 2008 12:48 PM

Gil did not actually "call out" the Cavs....he basically said they have been a .500 team since the trade but the reason he wants to play them is because he can't see them beating us 3 years straight in the playoffs. Is that such a bad remark? Deshawn, on the the other hand, did make a derogatory remark. Personally, I wish both Gil and Deshawn had just kept quiet.

Lebron was interviewed and said the Cavs "are not trash talkers...that's what the Wizards do."

Guess he does not think that comment is "trash talking" - or walking over to Gil and daring him to make 2 game winning free throws is not trash talking either.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 12:49 PM

I heard LeBron's comment about them not being trash talkers and though the same thing. I hope that we sweep them and every game is on CSN because the national broadcasts spend far too much time zoomed on Bron-Bron eating his own fingers, and it absolutely disgusts me.

Posted by: Lou | April 16, 2008 12:56 PM

Well, I hope the Wizards can prove Sir Charles wrong.

BTW - I do actually think Barkley is a really great player, but is it just me - DOES HE EVER SHUT UP?

t-mobile, blah, football, blah, blah, food, blah, blah

Posted by: just saying | April 16, 2008 12:59 PM

I agree,

DC-Mann88 & Charles should be buddies - because they both never SHUT UP!

Posted by: big mike | April 16, 2008 1:07 PM

Wow Barkley,

Gil and Caron talked trash to the Boston Celtics all season long and took their best shots, ended up still standing. Sure made a difference and pissed off Garnett and Pierce, so what!? What do you say to that Mr. Big Mouth?

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 1:20 PM

When do the Wizards play game 1? The NBA announced some match-ups last night. The Sixers beat reporter says the Sixers open on Sunday.

Posted by: Steve C. | April 16, 2008 1:23 PM

He's got no cred. Like Barkley has never opened his big mouth and said something stupid!!

Posted by: Rook | April 16, 2008 1:25 PM

And if Stevenson and Arenas riled up LeBron - Who just riled up Stevenson, Arenas and the rest of the Wizards by calling them the dumbest team in the history of civilization?

Posted by: Rook | April 16, 2008 1:27 PM

Well nobody ever said Barkley was the epitomy of intelligence.

Posted by: JP | April 16, 2008 1:34 PM

That was game 3 two years ago.

Posted by: Barno | April 16, 2008 1:45 PM

So only LeBron gets to trash talk and showboat, and show his ugly scowl?
Yeah rile LeBron James up, get Dominic to slap away some of his drives/layups/dunks even with hard fouls. Get Nick to dunk on him and get him even madder. As long as the Wizards keep their composure and play with energy, make some noise on the court for communication without distracting themselves with trash talking DURING the game, bring it on!

Posted by: rgz | April 16, 2008 1:46 PM

The first thing we need during this series is a Game 1 HARD foul on LeBron when he tries to go down the middle and dunk. It's message time. We need to knock him on his as*. Though they may try to retaliate, we don't really have that many guys who drive that much. They may go after Gil. The tone should be set early on that we intend to be physical on defense. Time to go Scott Stevens/Dale Hunter on him and rough him up.

Posted by: mark | April 16, 2008 1:53 PM

Barkley loves LeBron because they'll both max out with one Finals loss.

Posted by: Kev | April 16, 2008 1:56 PM

rgz, that's an interesting scenario but one that's very unlikely to occur, as the odds of either Young or McGuire seeing anything more than clean up duty in the case of a blowout are pretty slim.

Posted by: kalorama | April 16, 2008 1:57 PM

That's why Golden State called him Jabba the Hut (may have spelled it wrong) because Charles Barkley is an Ass and is always running his trap and offending people! I am sick of all of this Lebron worship. Yea, he has game but so does the Wiz. If the Wizards win he Charles will swear he never said it. Never met a bigger jerk than Sir Mound of Round Charles Barkley. Go Wiz!

re: LeBron's finger chewing...

Yeah, I agree. It's almost as disgusting as the guy in his entourage who sits behind the bench with a pair of nail clippers, just in case His Highness gets unsatisfactory results merely gnawing at his cuticles.

Posted by: John Brisker | April 16, 2008 2:02 PM

I glanced at the Cav's message board and even they say this guy doesn't know what he is talking about, or at least says incredibly stupid stuff.

Posted by: B.A.M. | April 16, 2008 2:02 PM

That's funny because when I read what Barkley said I thought about the Boston games also. OK, at first we did lose, after Gil's prediction...LOL But on the next game Paul Pierce and Caron talked a lot of trash between them and we won. Then on their home, a day or 2 afterwards, more trash talking and we still win. Then here, K.G. was fired up and we still win (riled up)...
And as for trash talking, Lebron did "trash talk" Gilbert in game 6 right there on national TV at the free throw line and Gilbert didn't even call Lebron out on it. Gilbert took it in stride...yeah, I know he missed, but everyone wanted Gil to call him out for doing it and he didn't. Actually, I think Lebron and Gil may be cool with each other cause Lebron just said - "that Gilbert always saying something, but it's cool." At any rate, should be a good series/playoff. More like the 05-6 series, which was a lot of fun (I was at that game and the Verizon center was really fired up, loud and alive).

Posted by: washingtonian | April 16, 2008 2:08 PM

uh guys, barkley is right. for the wizards to be trash-talking the team that eliminated them the previous two years is pretty stupid.

HOWEVAH... if stevenson does get into lebron's head during this series and the wiz pull it out, i hope that barkley goes back and admits he was wrong.

Posted by: jrp | April 16, 2008 2:13 PM

Barkely's a funny guy and very entertaining, and he often has some interesting insights. But he also likes to hear himself talk and can veer wildly from one side to the other on the same issue. Remember, this is the same guy who claimed he was "misquoted" in his own autobiography.

Posted by: kalorama | April 16, 2008 2:16 PM

And really... isn't trash talk part of the game?? Part of competition? All in good fun. To say that a team or player can't trash talk is just dumb and boring if you ask me. On either team. Let the trash talk begin!!

Posted by: Frosty Freeze | April 16, 2008 2:18 PM

Charles provides one interpretation.

Another spin is that the Wiz may get under Lebron's skin. Nothing else seems to stop him, so there is little risk.

This is a good strategy. Who knows, maybe he'll lose it. Lebron ejected? Or maybe just a loss of concentration at a key moment?

The only person on the Wiz with twitching knees is DM (hoping he doesn't get the call). Other than that, the Wiz are ready to rule.

Posted by: Izman | April 16, 2008 2:30 PM

Oh you can trash talk but not just against or to "King James" the chosen one. The one who's royal behind the refs,Stern and all of the other anlyst's kiss. Kudos to the Wiz for manning up. Now, they just need to back it up. I believe we can do the darn thing.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 2:46 PM

I think Stevenson showing some fire is exactly what the Wizards need. You can't play meaningful games if you're not confident you can win. I believe the Wiz are over the hump in terms of beliveing they can beat any team in the NBA when healthy. That is the "swagger" needed when you advance to the next level(playoffs). Before they were just excited to get there and hoping to advance. Now they believe they can/should win and that is the maturity needed to play with the big boys. Remember how we used to be growing up and always wanting to be good enough and believe we were good enough to finally play with and beat the "big boys"? Charles is just a paid announcer who brings controversy to balance out the booth. Who cares what he predicts!

Posted by: Garry | April 16, 2008 2:48 PM

rumor has it that game 1 is saturday, game 2 tuesday, game 3 thursday, and game 4 sunday.

that can all change though with what happens with the west seedings. schedule won't be released until late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Dang Charles The Wizards are the dumbest team in History?? Even worse than the KNICKS??? WOW!!! You just mad because Ernie
G has put together (4 years straight in the Playoffs) a team that your boy Michael Jordan couldn't ( not even ONE Playoff Game) Drafted KWAME BROWN let's not talk about that one. Ernie G has a team that fears NO ONE !!! MJ's teams always feared MJ and if you spoke out against MJ you got traded ie Jerry StackHouse. And Chuckster what about the BOBCATS and their drafts under MJ nice picks MIKE with Sean May and Adam Morrison both have really panned out huh? How bout Charles Barkley showing the rest of when he opens his mouth being the DUMBEST ATHLETE PERIOD!! Chuck go run for GOV of ALABAMA your mouth suits it!!

F*** Barkely for kissin James a$$ like every other mindless sheep, the man is OVERRATED for real, give me Melo ova him anyday, damn even give me Caron ova him anyday. I cant wait to get it started cuz my Wiz have faught hard all season to get where they at which i aint sayin we gonna win the whole thing but atleast we not gettin hyphed up just cuz we got 'bron bron' the spoiled brat. This is gonna be a real fight this time around and god willing we stay healthy cuz this is the year that we can make it atleast to the EC finals. GO WIZARDS!!!

Witness, he who is overrated!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 3:15 PM

Anything to get under LeBron's skin like DeShawn's remarks or an early hard foul by BTH will help us to win the series. The Cavs helped the Wiz by trading Larry Hughes (knew our offense and defended GA well) and Drew Gooden who was always a thorn to Jamison on both ends. Cleveland has ZERO athletic ability outside of LeBron and can only win if they keep the games low scoring, half court with lot of fouls called. LeBron gets a lot of favoritism from the refs so we'll need to win decisively and not give the Cavs a shot at the end of a game. Assuming the Wiz have their top 9 players healthy, this series shouldn't go past 6 games....the Wiz are simply more balanced and talented from top to bottom this year.

Posted by: wizfan89 | April 16, 2008 3:27 PM

Testify, that he is overrated!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 16, 2008 3:48 PM

Who cares what Barkley thinks? Barkley and LeBron will have pleanty of time to talk about how "dumb" the Wizards are while watching the second round together. Stevenson didn't say anything that anyone who REALLY watches basketball and not highlights on ESPN already knows.

Posted by: virtueandvice | April 16, 2008 3:50 PM

Let Barkley run his trap, it will only be sweeter when the Wizards shove those same words down his throat.
I am glad the Stevenson called the Cavs out and I don't have a problem with what Gilbert said.
But now the Wizards to shut up and let their play do the talking. There will be plenty of time to mock Barkley afterwords.
I also want to second comments about @#$%&%$@ LeBron and make sure that someone (probably Haywood) gives Little Lord James a hard foul in game one.

Posted by: George Templeton | April 16, 2008 3:53 PM

Let's not go overboard with what Barkley said. Yeah he exaggerated, but Barkley is very entertaining. I love Barkley, but I don't know why he never respects the Wizards. Even when the Wiz play on TNT and they win Barkley doesn't give Wiz any credit. He always says he doesn't respect Wiz because they don't play D. That's his opinion so I won't hold it against him.

Actually Wiz never gets respect from the national media. I think Hollinger said Wiz would finish like 13th in the East. I love Bill Simmons and he is my favorite columinst, but even he said Wiz would only win like 33 games this season. As a matter of fact, he thinks Arenas is a great player but downgrades him because he believes he nor any NBA player would enjoy playing with Arenas. That's odd because all his teammates love Arenas, and the reporters always say Wiz have one of the best locker rooms in all of sports. Every Wiz player, including Jamison says Arenas is the hardest working player on the team.

I don't know how Arenas got labeled a ball hog. You can't be a ball hog when every year 2 other players avg 20 pts/game (Jamison & Hughes, Jamison & Butler). Plus none of these players were ever All Stars until they started playing alongside Arenas.

OK I got off on a tangent. But let the national media hate on the Wiz. They just have to prove them wrong. The only way they can do that is make it to atleast the Eastern Conference Finals.

And everyone be cool in the Magic Kingdom tonight. Come home safe and sound.

Gilbert was just telling the truth. I am sure that every other team 4 and below would love to play the cavs in the first round. Better than playing Boston, Detroit or Orlando. Screw Barkley and his fat arse

By "Once they knew they were the #4 Seed," does he mean Monday Night?

Posted by: Duffman | April 16, 2008 4:50 PM

Again, this shows how much they try to make Lebron the greatest thing since sliced bread. He sits up there talking like he never talked trash to us. Isn't he the one who walked in front of Gilbert 2 years ago at the foul line? Isn't he the one who compared Deshawn to Soulja Boy? I guessed the media forgot that one. And another thing that the media is forgetting is how Gilbert motivates himself by taking anything negative against him and going ballistic on the court. Like the 54 he put up against Phoenix last year cause Colangelo cut him from the olympic squad. I still remember him pulling up from 35 ft out and drain a 3 then turn to Colangelo and stare at him. Classic! Gil is motivated. Deshawn is motivated. The team is motivated because they remember what happened last year. And the most important part is, CARON BUTLER IS MOTIVATED! Dont forget earlier in the year Caron came out and said that he wanted Cleveland again because he was hurt during last year's playoffs. So all of this adds up to the best 1st round series this year. Classic Pistons vs. Bulls type action. These teams don't like each other (BTH vs. Wallace & Big Z, Deshawn vs. LBJ, AD vs. Damon Jones). Its gonna be crazy but I think the wiz come out victorious. Like Gil said, its hard to beat a team 3 years straight.

Posted by: C.Bell | April 16, 2008 4:52 PM

Plus, the Cavs come from CLEVELAND !!! The last time that city won a NFL championship was 1964. The last time they won the World Series was 1948. (hell, the Senators won one in '33). "The city's recent lack of success in sports has earned it a reputation of being a cursed sports city, which ESPN validated by proclaiming Cleveland as its "most tortured sports city" in 2004."
No way they beat us 3 years in a row.

Posted by: mark | April 16, 2008 5:20 PM

Good point with the trade of Hughes and Gooden - two players that always gave the Wizards problems.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Barkley's comment. He is paid to be entertaining. The point about the Cavs not talking trash is plain "stupid". Yeah, I'm sure Lebron didn't talk any smack with Stevenson during their last meeting.

Posted by: Wizzz | April 16, 2008 6:05 PM

I think Les BouleS can beat the Cavs, but it was stupid for DS to say that about Lebron because it's not DS who's going to be shouldering the load against the Cavs. Those people will be AJ, Caron, and Gilby.

Posted by: DC Man88 | April 16, 2008 6:19 PM

It would be one thing if the Wizards had won a playoff series in the past two tries against the Cavs, but they haven't. The "overrated" LeBron James single-handedly beat your team three times during the first series. Remember when Agent Zero missed two free throws that would have potentially allowed that series to go back to Cleveland for a seventh game? The second series was far from memorable due to injuries but still nonetheless ended in a sweep. LeBron then willed his less than talented supporting cast to the NBA Finals. True, the Cavs have not played well since the trade but that is to be expected with all of the injuries and roster turnover they've experienced. The main constant that will allow the Cavs to once again hold off this team of overconfident punks is Mr. James. I will check back once the Cavs have sent your team home for the summer and hopefully they will do that on your home floor for the third year in a row. There's nothing that would please me more.

On another topic, when GA called out guys for turning down contract extensions, he was just flamed in this blog and elsewhere.
Well, it turns out he may have been right. You guys think Ben Gordon and Luol Deng are getting that money now? Doubtful. I'm just saying this to say...sometimes he may talk too much but for the most part he's just telling the truth as he sees it. He was right on this one. Let's hope he's as sensible when it's time for him to re-up. Those guys had a chance to earn it and didn't. I'm betting that GA earns his new contract during the Cleveland series.

Posted by: mark | April 16, 2008 6:41 PM

I'm tired of these FU6KING CAV's fans trying to talk trash on our site. Go get a life and wait for your city to finally get some kind of Championship. I mean, how can 1 city not win a Championship from any of their numerous teams??? No wonder you guys hang on Lebron's balls. It's your only hope. And Flight#23, please do come back after the series is over.

Posted by: Bangladesh | April 16, 2008 6:53 PM

Even the blog is picking up some energy here at playoff time...nice.

While I endorse DeShawn mucking with Lebron, I wholeheartedly disagree that he is overrated. He is likely the best player in the game today, youth getting the nod over Kobe. A physical freak of nature and a fierce competitor. Still just one man.

I like our overall talent much more and believe the Wiz can win the series. Hughes was an asset for them previously and they will miss his ability to shut down our perimeter players. He also knew Jordan's sets pretty well.

I hope Arenas continues to come off the bench for this series. what a nightmare for Cleveland to watch a fired up Gil square up on Daniel Gibson again and again and again...

I think this is an excellent point, and one that not enough people mention. It is important to note, however, that the Wizards prior to this season played at one of the fastest paces in the league. That might explain to some degree why others are scoring a lot of points alongside Arenas.

Posted by: Pradamaster | April 16, 2008 11:24 PM

DSteve is doing a smart thing. He is moving the focus from Labron vs GA to Labron vs DSteve. Takes the pressure and focus off of GA at a time when GA is not ready to handle it. DSteve is not as dumb as he looks. Labron has shown he doesnt play any better when he is pissed off, in fact he seems to play worse when he is distracted by stuff like this. Becomes more of a ball hog, forces shots and doesnt tend to let the game come to him. I like what DSteve has done. He clearly has GA's back. Staring down the fear.

Now, Barkley does clearly still hold a grudge against Abe for the Jordon days. I like Barkley despite this, he is candid and speaks his mind, but he can also be painfully transparent when he is being manipulative and he is pretty transparent here over this Jordon issue and he will probably never get over it. I'm sure his analysis of the "dumb" Wizards had more than a little something to do with his grudge.

You're labeled a ball hog when the offense stalls and waits to see what you do with the ball before others can get a pass.

You're labeled a ball hog when often times, you just dribble the ball down the court and jack the shot from 25ft+ without even making a pass.

You're labeled a ball hog when you dribble down the court, make a move, and then get fouled.

Of course others on the court will get their points. Otherwise, at Gilby's highest scoring average of about 30 pts/game, and an average NBA game score at 90, that's 60 more points that other people have to make up.

It was clear that when Gilby was out with his knee injury, the offense flowed better, other players emerged, and there was more chemistry. No one was standing around waiting for one particular guy to either shoot or drive, and maybe even pass.

It's up to Gilby to change his image, and the playoffs may be a time for him to share the ball and sacrifice his personal goals for the sake of the team.....Of course, his personal statistician will still be there to give him updates on his game stats.

ESPN hates the Wizards for whatever reason and as Barkley said he "hates all white people" which is the dumbest thing ever said by a a so called broadcaster who speaks his mind if you can understand him. He sounds like he is chewing on grass. Stevenson and Arenas love to stir the pot and are you telling me you need to stir the pot to get Queen James to play his best if so "he is overrated" and you can't print that out. Barkley is a fool and will always be a fool.

Wow, "now" LeBron James is going to play better. I didn't realize he wasn't motivated. That is an insult to the CAVs and LeBron. I think what Barkley said was "stupid" but it won't be the last time he says something stupid.

LeBron is overrated hands down. Deshawn should have kept going w/ the overrated subject. I think we should get a benchwarmer like Pecherov, and have him foul James real hard. And Barkely... Go eat your pork and ice cream and keep your fat mouth quiet (go talk to Dwayne if your lonely). I hope Gil' will trash-talk all during the game to James. REVENGE!!!!

Ooops, looks like Charles was right. Watch the best player in the league single-handedly knock you guys out of the playoffs, YET AGAIN.

You know what they say about loser teams with big mouths and nothing to back it up. (They call them Wizards)

This is absurd. I live in Ohio, and despise all Cleveland sports teams, but was interested to what the tension would be like between the Cavs and Wizards after Dumb-shawn Stevenson's comments about LeBron. I just watched the Cavs blow out the Wizards by 30 points. Seriously, what kind of idiot taunts the crowd after hitting a 3 when your team is down by 16 points.... Oh wait, that would be Dumb-Shawn Stevenson. That's the same moron that called LeBron James 'over-rated'. I guess LeBron is over-rated though, I mean, come on, look at the tough D that Dumb-Shawn and Agent I Can't Score played on him so far... He's only averaging 31 points a game so far in this series, and was 1 rebound shy of a triple double tonight, and those numbers probably would have been higher if the Cav's weren't playing a Junior College team in those haneously ugly gold jersey's tonight that could compete on a professional basketball skill level....

It's 2-0 Cav's right now, and it looks like game 4 will end the series in Washington again. The only thing that will make Dumb-Shawn's retarded comments even funnier is when he has that joke of a rap/pop star Soulja Boy in the crowd as his personal cranking that, as LeBron puts up another night of over-rated player numbers.....

The Wizards have straight up looked like a joke in this series, and all of you suckers who think LBJ23 is over-rated should probably pray for a different playoff matchup in the first round next year... Or better yet, you should hope to miss the playoffs so you are not embarassed again.

where did all the wizards fans go?

Posted by: tm | April 23, 2008 5:50 PM

I expect this to pick up today because Washington got a win last night. Their fans are idiots chanting over-rated... They should say that about Agent I Can't Score or Dumb-Shawn.

Why are so many people calling Lebron overrated. The man is the youngest to score 10,000 points 2nd best player in the league but yet he is overrated. I believe the correct term is overhated.

I promised I would be back once the series ended like I predicted it would. Aren't you tired of seeing your Wizards lose to the Cavs on your home floor? Is this what Agent Zero meant about wanting to get the Cavs in the first round. 27-13-13 is great but the reason you lost this series is because when the Cavs ran efficient offense, your team could not stop them. After three consecutive first round eliminations, I think that the team needs to be blown up. I feel sorry for Antawn Jamison, he's the only guy that stepped up tonight and no one helped him. Maybe some guys who aren't so concerned about blogs and feeling their face would help. Enjoy your summer earned it.
