Game 4

Gilbert Arenas will start today in Game 4 but how he performs and how long he plays is anyone's guess. Coach Eddie Jordan did say that he will likely keep Arenas on the bench for short stretches once he does come out so he doesn't stiffen up like he did the other night.

Not a lot to update from the pre-game locker room other than the fact that DeShawn Stevenson is seriously ticked off that Love would play that dis song Jay-Z made for LeBron James. James was in the house.

"That would never happen in Cleveland," Stevenson said. "I mean, if I even walked into a Cleveland club right now, I'd have two black eyes and I'd be on crutches. And they'd tell me I deserved it too. So, we're boycotting Love. No loyalty."

I second that, DeShawn. Let's all boycott Love until they apologize and make things right.

Arenas has already made three bad passes that were all turnovers. Stop forcing things!

Tirico just said Caron and his wife were there Friday night and walked out of Love after Damon Jones got on the mic. He also said the Wizards are boycotting the club.

The turnovers are killing us. And most of them are just bad passes which we commit ourselves. Gilbert needs to make better passes or find a spot on a bench.

Thankfully we got back in the game before the quarter ended.

I think Butler needs to get hot quick. And yeah please stop forcing passes.

How come he gets to shoot 2? Blind refs.

This small ball lineup worries me, Gil already has trouble with Wally and its been hard to protect the glass.

They need to put Gil on the bench. And this team needs to refocus. Players' attention spans are too short, which is why Cleveland is on an 11-0 run.

They are in an 20-2 run, why haven't we made any changes?

I had a bad feeling this would happen. Wizards got away from the defensive schemes that made them so successful in Game 3. They let LeTravel get a couple of easy shots early, which gave him more confidence. They made careless turnovers. And they went back to shooting too many jumpers. Their focus is awful.

EJ has a Gibbsian loyalty to Gil at this point, and I don't understand how Roger Mason couldn't find any minutes in the last six minutes of the second half when he's been shooting better than anyone on the team. Instead, we have Gil running around making careless turnovers. CB is taking long jumpers and making ridiculous passes. There's no production coming from the low post. DeShawn is missing shots again and acting a fool defensively. It's all these things and antics that distract this team from winning. They gave up 23 points in six minutes. That's atrocious.

Oh how they struggle but just can't beat Lebron. I am a hometown fan and really like the Bullets/Wizards, but they will not bet the CAVS.

Gilbert needs to sit alas. And somebody has to energize them quickly!

Posted by: khrabb | April 27, 2008 2:13 PM | Report abuse

Does anyone else watching the game wish Tirico or whoever is calling it would just shut up for a few seconds so we could watch the game? The Wiz and the crowd need to wake up for the second half.

Gil, right now, isn't helping this team. And how Eddie Jordan is failing to realize that is beyond me. Our bench is outplaying our starters. If this continues, Mr Pollin should just save money and cancel the flight to Cleveland. These are the most easily distracted players. And it's because of a lack of singular leadership. Like or hate LeBron, he's a good leader. He knows how to rally his guys and get them refocused. The wizards? All we do is shoot jumpers when the going gets tough.

If you want Tirico to shut up, mute the TV and listen to Dave Johnson on the radio.

Giving out offensive rebounds, turnovers, giving out offensive rebounds ...

I can live with shots not falling, but they got to limit those.

Talking about shots not falling, near the end of the half, they are jacking up shots, instead of running the offense. They are letting Cas rattled them, they need to go back to their offense in the 2nd half.

dewhoever should not have taken a cheap shot at Lebron.. That was a MAJOR mistake. This game is over

Posted by: wizards wish | April 27, 2008 2:24 PM | Report abuse

This has been a hailstorm of bad offense and bad rebounding. Stop settling for jumpers and get back to ball movement and player movement on offense. And box out on defense for God's sakes. STOP DOUBLING PEOPLE LIKE SZCZERBIAK!!!!!!

Posted by: George Templeton | April 27, 2008 2:33 PM | Report abuse

How about Rebounding??? The Cavs are out rebounding us tremendously!!!! Second chance shots and the Cavs offensive rebounds are killing us. Say a lil' prayer for us, please.

Posted by: wizzie | April 27, 2008 3:08 PM | Report abuse

... to even get the 7th game I mean.

Posted by: rgz | April 27, 2008 3:45 PM | Report abuse

They played well in 3rd Q, but near the end, their small lineup backfired. It's hard to believe EJ's solution to surrendering offensive rebounds is to replace Haywood with Songaila, who is not known to be a good rebounder!

First off, you dont play for the Wizards, stop saying "we".
If I was on the team I would laugh my butt off at you.
I checked this Forum after game one and was astounded that you all cry like babies. I do understand that this Ivan guy is totally unprofessional and leads the whining but you don't HAVE to follow his lead.
It's time to realize that playing playground ball against a real team is NOT going to get you anywhere in the NBA.
This Stevenson guy is simply terrible. His showboating after FINALLY making a basket is laughable and defending him just makes you all laughing stocks.
Butler is all offense, Arenas is all mouth and the only player you have is Jameson.
You aren't even good fans.
I wouldn't trade Lebron for your whole team.

Run Marc (the owner of Love) out of town...he's never been for DC, and this is another example. How can you have a club in DC that refuses to play Go Go at all?
