MMPG: Player of the Week

Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics

In politics, this year has been all about change. In the NBA, it's been all about The Truth. Pierce has been on a magical run in 2008, winning the NBA Finals MVP and ascending to the league's upper echelon. He doesn't appear to be falling off anytime soon, following an incredible week that saw him post 36 points and nine rebounds against Toronto and cause Kevin Garnett to call him, "Superman;" drop 34 points and the game-winning jumper with 0.5 seconds remaining against the Atlanta Hawks; and throw in 28 in a win over Milwaukee.

The only blemish on an otherwise stellar week, was an off night against Denver, when Pierce scored just 19 points in a loss to the new-look Nuggets. But overall, averaging 29.3 points and 7.3 rebounds and leading his team to a 3-1 record is not too shabby.

The object of the game of basketball is to score points which DESHAWN Stevenson and Antonio DANIELS can not provide; meanwhile both accumulate a lot of wasted minutes on the floor. What a waste!
