Antawn Jamison can not defend Michael Beasley at power forward and why is Etan Thomas starting at center? This coach is a joke people. He must have some photo's of EG since he keeps him around.

Starting five is about -10 and played more than 4-5 minutes. Even worse, the 2nd team had D. Brown and McGuire, making it ineffective as well.

Does the coach try to pick the worst possible rotations? If so, we should see Pech soon.

Posted by: Izman | November 14, 2008 8:51 PM | Report abuse

McGee has 4 points and 3 rebounds in 7 minutes at the half. Why has he played only 7 minutes? I'm on board with the EJ haters now.
This dude is a joke. We need a real coach. He has no clue about rotations or substituting. How many points do we need to be down before he plays his best players? This is my first EJ rant and I've always been supportive but I'm done with him. I've seen enough. His supporters can talk all they want about injuries but the fact is he has 2 current all stars on his team and a host of good young talent. I bet there a bunch of coaches in this league who'd have this team at 5-1 rather than 1-5. Let's shorten his leash. it's time to do some real coaching. Designing a nice offense is one thing. Coaching when things don't go exactly as planned is another. We need a coach who can adapt.

Songaila is in to start the 2nd half at C. Let's see how many minutes he gets without a rebound tonight.

Posted by: original_mark | November 14, 2008 9:09 PM | Report abuse

Where's JaVale? Only 5 minutes?

Posted by: 7snider7 | November 14, 2008 9:10 PM | Report abuse

The reason that the Wizards suck right now is not because of the supporting cast, the coaching, Arenas being out, etc. It's that Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison aren't playing anywhere close to what they're capable of.

Posted by: satchmore | November 14, 2008 9:14 PM | Report abuse

Right now our squad doesn't even look like they want to be on the floor, this is a problem eddie.

Posted by: bford1kb | November 14, 2008 9:17 PM | Report abuse

Nothing says 'Game Over' like closing out the 3rd quarter on the wrong end of a 20-3 run. Whiskey tango foxtrot!?!

So, two years later your No. 1 pick that year is still a garbage time player.

Shooting 25 footers.

Just what this team needs.

If he hadn't been their first round pick, they'd have cut him. But they're too embarrassed to do it.

Posted by: SteveMG | November 14, 2008 9:27 PM | Report abuse

Can I get some love for Pech ? He's playing decent D against Beasley and he's hit a couple shots. Give ALL of Songaila's time to Pech.

Posted by: original_mark | November 14, 2008 9:32 PM | Report abuse

javale didnt play more in the first half because he was all over the place defensively leaving his man on the wing wide open for jumpers while he drifted under the basket instead. It really looked like he didnt know what to do when there wasnt a big man to man up on.

Posted by: riskus | November 14, 2008 9:48 PM | Report abuse

10 points, 5 rebounds and solid defense in only 12 minutes for Pech. He was only 40% but maybe part of that is due to jitters since he never sees the court.
As the only one banging the Pech drum here, can I get some consensus on the Songaila to Pech move?

Posted by: original_mark | November 14, 2008 9:49 PM | Report abuse

lol, this team SUCK so bad that they need to rebuild now..im speechless and frustrated..im done with dis team until they make some trades or just re-build the team

EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY!!!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ISSUE AN AMBER ALERT!!!

ANTAWN JAMISON'S DEFENSE WAS MISSING AGAIN DURING THE GAME.

AJ got systematically clowned tonight.

This is the loudmouth captain of the team who's PO'd at other people while he himself can't play D.

There were so many examples tonight....one, with Beasley's driving dunk.

Another with DWade's fake and up and under move for the J.

So embarrassing...

Hmm, in the fourth quarter during garbage time?

Nobody gets props for playing well during garbage time.

Wizards outrebounded 52-33.

Thomas, 16 minutes, 2 boards. Blatch 14 minutes 1 board. Songaila 7 minutes, 1 rebound.

Big 3: 37 minutes, 4 rebounds.

Are you joking or serious?

OPech got his numbers during garbage time when the game was blown the F out of the gym.

Heat were up by about 29 pts and you have this goofy Ukrainian shooting 3's and padding numbers.

Posted by: DC_MAN88 | November 14, 2008 9:51 PM | Report abuse

riskus, i can't blame a C for drifting under the hoop. Our scheme shouldn't have a 7 footer drifting to a wing, IMO. Maybe thats why we got pounded on the boards.
I'm sure he made mistakes like you said. I'm willing to live with them, though. He's the present and the future.

I think this team was a little too relieved after the first win.

Everyone is going to rant about the subs as well they should. But, the EFFORT displayed by this team tonight was just pathetic! Too much time in the South Beach clubs last night? Just embarrassingly pathetic and I think that is also another symptom of poor coaching.

Plus, how EJ ever thought Etan should be his starting center a couple of years ago is beyond me? The dude is a rock on the court and his hands are made of the same. He's just not good whatsoever and JaVal was just sitting on the pine while we got destroyed on the boards.

Mr. .474 winning percentage!

Put Songalia's head for the game and fundamentals into Etan's body and you would have one hell of a player!

dude, pech ply cause the team is already lost!! he get garbage time. there is no way in hell that i wanna see pech plyin again unless he can show that he can ply EVERY GAMES!! like he did tonight. just one gm + garbage time that u saw pech plyin and u get soo excited, just ridiculous

Posted by: forbid | November 14, 2008 9:53 PM | Report abuse

I said it before, I'll say it again.

Les BouleS don't do so well against athletic teams who can shoot.

Also, DS proves again that he's useless.

He got clowned by DWade also.

Posted by: DC_MAN88 | November 14, 2008 9:54 PM | Report abuse

and all pech did is shootin 3...yeah four threes, u heard that right, in short amount mins of time. shoot mostly jump shot..enough said, 7 footer got to ply in the paint!

Posted by: forbid | November 14, 2008 9:55 PM | Report abuse

Les BouleS got crushed by another lottery team this season.

What's new?

Team looked totally unprepared to play again.

Where are the "EJ for COTY!!!" chants?

On a side note.

Did anyone notice a stat shown on the screen during the game?

Air Gordon is like in the top 4 in scoring average over 48 min/game.

Not too shabby for a guy who couldn't get a big contract deal this offseason.

just re-build this f**team, keep arenas cause theres no one want him right now, mcgee, young, and just trading everyone, everyone of them! even tough juice ( he has great value), and jamison as well

Posted by: forbid | November 14, 2008 10:00 PM | Report abuse

that was an awesome game!! NOT!! this team is absolutely pathetic...they only play well when they're desperate, there was no sense of urgency, they thought because they got that monkey off their back they could just go out there and play sloppy with no effort...thank god the Caps were on cuz watching the Wiz is painful and embarrasing...they play NO defense! they just stand around and let teams do whatever they like...its a lost season 20-62

Posted by: rachel216 | November 14, 2008 10:04 PM | Report abuse

I thought Miami got hosed the night before by a big line-up. So much for Ivan's suggestion. Why couldn't we try a bigger line-up given that the starting line-up didn't deliver?

I still don't see the benefit of Eddie's offense. Most plays seem to start with an outside weave that takes time off the clock and doesn't do much of anything else.

In a nuthsell, that didn't look like NBA coaching or NBA basketball out there tonight.

Posted by: Izman | November 14, 2008 10:06 PM | Report abuse

I'm despondent. Jamison is one of the 5 worst defenders in the league at the forward position, and he looks even worse with out Brendan giving help D. DeShawn has been awful, and maybe angling for a cameo on Artest's next rap album. Dee Brown is destined to be the fourth best point guard in the Keyser Soze League in Turkey. Even, Caron appears to be impacted by the awfulness going on around him. All this, and Javale plays what, 6 minutes, in the first half!?! Most of his minutes appear to have been in guppy time. EJ, please, play the kids and coach 'em up!

Posted by: jasonbehrs | November 14, 2008 10:07 PM | Report abuse

even tinsley would help us right now, at least a bit, but i guess our owner wanted to be cheap as s** and save his money for beers, so pollins want to win a championship? then he must be willin to pay the money and go over the luxury tax. if not, then, rest in peace old man

Posted by: forbid | November 14, 2008 10:08 PM | Report abuse

JaTravel did some good things during this game, but he had very little impact.

The Heat pretty much pulled away while he was in the game. And, when I say pulled away, I mean like going from a 10 pt lead to probably over 20.

JaTravel got his numbers, but no one, including him, could do anything to stop the Heat, who were lottery last season.

During the summer, I openly questioned and made a point on WTF is AJ going to do against the likes of Beasley, Bosh, EBrand, Zach Randolph, etc.

Well, we've seen what Beasley and Randolph have done, and it was ugly. Even Yi Jianlian ate his lunch.

5 years, 50 mil for a 32 year old for all that.....EG, you should be GM of the century.

Posted by: DC_MAN88 | November 14, 2008 10:08 PM | Report abuse

Pretty discouraging game. The Heat aren't exactly a scary squad.

At least we've seen the younger players show some energy and spurts of good play. Something to look forward to and build upon.

Not so much for this game. McGee showed some flashes.

Otherwise, nada.

my new favorite team is now the 76ers, no more wizards and this cheap owner, no more buyin tickets and help support the wiz if the owner want to sit around and doin nothin to improve the team
and , i f** wasted my time and recorded 6 games with my DVD-RW this season and all of them were lost that bs

Posted by: forbid | November 14, 2008 10:15 PM | Report abuse

geez, did the wiz play tonight? I wouldn't know because i was too busy watching women's bowling --- women's bowling is so much more enjoyable than the wiz and the ladies are so much more competitive.

Posted by: bestmick1 | November 14, 2008 10:16 PM | Report abuse

Yawn. With the economy on the precipice and jobs being lost by the hundreds of thousand, it is uniquely frustrating to watch millionaires play with no heart. What's up with this team? Why did Didn'tshown Stevenson play better last year on one leg? Why is Jamison averaging 3 less rebounds without Haywood to compete with? Where is the Caron capable of hoisting the team on his soldiers? Why hasn't someone fed Pech some chicken and given him a set of dumbells? Where is Blatche's purpose and sense of entitlement as a future NBA star? Dude needs a year of self-discovery in Tibet or something. Someone remind me: why did we sign Brown and Dixon? Oh yeah, Dixon won a national championship at Maryland in 2002. Right now, the only Wiz players giving effort are the kids... Young, Mcgee, Mcguire and, at least for tonight, Pech. I'm tired of watching yet another team retool while we regress. Despite the brilliant drafting of Mcgee, EG has put together an awful roster around a few good players. EJ does not have this team even remotely inspired. And Abe hasn't had a team with genuine championship ambitions since disco. C'mon guys, get it together.

Forbid, the PG position is clearly struggling, but Tinsley would be awful with the bullets. We have a long history of acquiring players who become fat, or are fat and become even more fat. Tinsley would join John Williams, LeDell Eackles, Mel Turpin, and Duckworth (RIP) in the line of uberfat, out of shape, bullets/wiz players. Also, does Blatche really need another strip club, gunplay role model?

Hey guys...here's some good news.

A Les BouleS drafted guard is doing well this season and had a great night tonight. He plays defense too.

Too bad he was traded right after getting drafted.

If they're not close to 500 by the 20th game this team could be in real trouble, next week the Heat and the Hawks are back to back you wanna take odds on the outcome, i'm here in the ATL and have to put up with the Hawk fans nuff said.
