On pace to win 75 games, the Boston Celtics (20-2) have won an NBA season-high 12 games in a row. They have the same record that they had this time last year but that team lost its 23rd game. Boston's 23rd game this season comes Thursday ... against the Washington Wizards.

The Celtics recorded double-digit wins against division leaders Orlando and Portland and avenged an early-season loss to the Indiana Pacers by defeating them twice. On Sunday, Ray Allen scored a season-high 35 points as Boston defeated the Pacers, 122-117, in overtime. It was a rare close call for the Celtics, who had won their previous 11 games by at least 14 points.

The Celtics are beating all comers, getting under their opponents' skin with some serious trash talk, and also making each other cry in the process. That's right. After the second unit allowed Portland to cut a 23-point lead down to 13 points, Kevin Garnett gave Glen Davis a tongue-lashing and Davis let everyone know why he is nicknamed, "Big Baby," as he wept on the bench.
