Random Thoughts on Pistons, 'Wolves
From Ivan Carter:
-The Pistons are indeed going small tonight.
- I'm all for Kevin McHale taking over as coach of the team I grew up following. Good. He built that roster (or tore it down if you want to look at it that way) so he should coach it. On that subject, I asked Ernie Grunfeld in a casual conversation yesterday whether he ever considered being a head coach and he said no. Grunfeld was an assistant with the Knicks for a brief time in the late '80s.

If Caron has to spend the night running after Rip and then shoulder the scoring load we can just tack up another L right now.

Good point by disgruntledfan. First with EJ and now with Tap, we always seem to react to what the other team dictates.

McDyess resigns with the Pistons today. With our luck he comes running off the bus and scores 18 with 10 rebounds. Of course, Songaila will be out there "guarding" him.

If the Pistons are going small today, what are the chances that the Wizards will respond by going big?
My guess is 2 to 3%.
