Why is Pech inactive again?

FREE PECH !!!

original_mark, I assuming because Pech isn't as good as advertised. He will be gone after the season along with Thomas, and Juan.

Thinking ahead - if the Wiz get the top pick, I hope they'll trade it down for a third or fourth pick for Rubio. We don't need another big man, we need a pure point guard that can bring the ball to our big men. Plus Rubio can play some serious D. 2009 starters: Rubio, Gil, Bulter, Blatche, BTH with Jamison as a 6th man.

It will be interesting to see how Caron fares defensively against Felton when Augustine is running the point for the Cats. Might not be pretty.

And those high-scoring big men are?

Good point that they need a PG. They do. But they also need some size and muscle.

Especially muscle.

Two big men, a point guard, a shooting guard (assuming that Arenas is done; hopefully not, but I think it's a debatable question).

Yeah, other than that, they're in good shape.

man i'm really happy mcguire is getting the start. i love mcguire. hopefully he earns a solid starting spot.

It is a troubling sign that our #2 of the future (NY) wasn't even considered to start is DS's place. Seems if Nick is following in the footsteps of fellow #1 SG picks Arvis Hayes and Jeffries.

When is the last time a Wiz/Bullet #1 actually panned out (and not for Detroit)? The closest I can get is Haywood, which is a stretch.

Tapscott, McGuire, Blatche, and Mike James -- meet your lottery-bound Wiz. This is a mess. Hard to believe last year they won 43 games.

Devon Harris?

Here's the list (draft selections).

Not very pretty, is it?

If Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison are all stars then why are the Bobcats favored by 6?

Wizards interim coach Ed Tapscott was the team president and CEO of the Bobcats from 2003-2006.

This explains why the Bobcats suck too!

Not very pretty, is it?

That is a joke. The only good player was Rip and they traded him?

Posted by: bulletsfan78 | December 23, 2008 7:53 PM | Report abuse

bulletsfan78,

I think we are right on track with our young players mixing with the old. Most of them are role players. We already have scorers in Arenas, Carol, and Jamsion (assuming he have 3 more years left in him). All we need is a real good coach (sanders?) and a kick as PG (Rubio) and we'll be good to go.

I agree with steve MG, we do need muscles in our big men but Blacthe is getting there and BTH beefed up. Dsong is nice. McGee will be ready in a year or two.

Last, I am still betting that abe will turn over the team to Ted by the end of the season. From there, you bet your a** we'll be heading toward a championship in 2011.

DeShawn is playing more off the bench then when he started.

Posted by: ptp23 | December 23, 2008 8:35 PM | Report abuse

Correct me if I am wrong but there's no way Okfur would made those last two shots with Mcgee in the gamne unless he's running out trying to block someone from shooting a 3 pointer.

Story in two lines:
Butler - 12 for 21: 57%
Rest of Team - 16 for 66: 24%

And 9 assists?

Strong inside players eat this team up alive.

Man, something new every other game.

Posted by: SteveMG | December 23, 2008 9:24 PM | Report abuse

MeShawn coming off the bench and still couldn't do anything.

Maybe now he'll say "Tap, I'm not bench material...send me to D league..."

Congrats Okafor...monster game...

EG, let's drop DS and sign DJ Strawberry.

Tap has figured out the formula for losing, and is going to stick with it: Lots of minutes for the starters -- make sure you grind Caron and Antawn into the ground; lots of Songaila at C; lots of Stevenson, even off the bench; little of the promising young players, other than Young; 9 min/game for McGee, while the other team exploits our midgets inside; keep Crittenton on the bench, so we have no idea if he can become a player or not. Way to go, Tap.

McGuire and McGee gave good effort the small amount of minutes they played. Seems like Blatche has regressed a lot from last season. I am wondering if that wound has something to do with his mental preparation and fatigue. He doesn't rebound or block shots. I also noticed that the whole team thinks they are G. Arenas and they shoot soon as they get the ball. I felt sorry for Caron the only guy going hard to the paint.

We should think outside the box and start Pecherov at center.

man caron was a -7 on the floor tonight. we need to bench him.

You people are the worst fans in sports. Seriously, it was more pleasant following this team back when they were reliably awful. This is a very well constructed team with two major injuries. Please turn your bitterness and hate against yourselves this holiday season.

Posted by: IrenePollin | December 23, 2008 5:06 PM

Tell ABE to quit being so cheap, spend some money, go over the luxury cap and build a winner. This current team sucks and if you think they are a well constructed team, then you are crazy. They have 4 wins, that equals sucks and I do not care how many injuries they have. You are right on one point, it was more pleasant following this team back when they were reliably awful, at least the fans had hope that a good draft pick could turn things around. After the signing of AJ and Gilbert and with ABE being so cheap there is no hope at all. It is not bitterness and hate, it is what fans call passion, and it is something ABE does not have.

You'll make a great clipper or Thunder fan. Sorry, DC fans just don't have the time and patient. It what it is, take it or leave it.

EG can't do anything now. No one left to fire. No one with trade value. Let's just hope we don't match '72 76ers with 9 wins as the worst NBA team ever.
