MMPG: Player of the Week

Andre Iguodala's season can be divided into two parts -- With Elton Brand and Without Elton Brand. The WEB version was a complete disappointment through the first 25 games playing alongside Brand, averaging just 13.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Iguodala looked lost as the secondary option. He tried being a jump shooter, which wasn't working, and he scored 20 or more points just three times. He also wasn't able to impact the game with his playmaking ability and versatility and, eventually, Maurice Cheeks lost his job.

But once Brand went down with a dislocated shoulder, the WOEB version has displayed the talents that earned him a six-year, $80 million contract last summer. The ball has been placed in hands, he has been free to roam, and suddenly, Iguodala looks like his old self again. In Philadelphia's 12 games without Brand, Iguodala is averaging 23.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists and the 76ers have gone 6-6.

The 76ers won a season-high four in a row last week, collecting wins over Houston, Milwaukee, Charlotte and Atlanta. Iguodala averaged 21.8 points, 6.5 assists and 4 rebounds in those wins, posting 28 points in a 104-96 win against the Rockets and 27 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds in a 109-94 win in Atlanta. But what is he going to do when Brand comes back?
