Wizards (11-41) at Bobcats (20-31)

Wizards starters: Mike James, Caron Butler, Darius Songaila, Antawn Jamison, Dominic McGuire.

Bobcats starters: Raymond Felton, D.J. Augustin, Emeka Okafor, Boris Diaw, Vladimir Radmanovic.

Refs:Tom Washington, Marc Davis, Tommy Nunez.

Line: Charlotte by 8.

-With a loss tonight the WIzards will be guaranteed a losing season before the all-star break for the first time ever.

-Darius Songaila was a game-time decision after injuring his left arm in a collision with Juan Dixon in Atlanta last night. McGee, who tied season-highs with 18 points and 11 rebounds in last night's loss, would have started had Songaila not been able to go.

-Charlotte leads the season-series 2-0.

-For Charlotte, Raja Bell (groin) and Gerald Wallace (fractured rib/collapsed lung) are out so the Wizards do have a shot at getting one heading into the all-star break.

-It's been a long season but there are still some funny moments like this one that took place in the locker room about an hour-and-a-half before the game. Oleksiy Pecherov was talking about his "post game" when Jamison interjected. "The dude has one post move that he's used a couple of times. That does not mean he has a post game. Remember what happened when you tried that against Kenyon Martin?"

Pech: "Vhat happened vas, I got ze ball and when ze cutter went through, they triple-played me."
Jamison: "Huh? They triple played you?"
Juan Dixon: "What???"
Nick Young and McGee just bent over laughing.
Randy Ayers, who was sitting there taking it all in: "So Pech, after they triple played you, what did you do then?"
Pech: starts munching a piece of fruit and walks away.

why bring Nick Young in at the six minute mark when you have the mis-match. Caron posted Felton twice and scored, keep going to that until they stop it. HORRIBLE COACHING!!!!

I wonder... in NBA history, has there ever been a team that has never won one game in their division... I think the Wizards will be the first in NBA history.

Its safe to say that talent is not the issue when someone named Cartier Martin is killing you.

Seriously, are they trying to lose on purpose??? Radmanovic had like 5 open threes with not a defender within 15 feet. This in unwatchable.

An interim coach whom clearly will not be named head coach is in a lot of cases a caretaker until the new coach is named.

A caretaker keeps everything in order, keeps things copastetic, dosen't let the crazies run the asylum, keeps things even keel, even stevens, until the new permanent guy is named and takes over.

In the meantime, if the owner, or general manager comes to check on things to see how the interim guy is holding up, and they find out that:

Everythings out of order, nothing is copastetic, the crazies are running amuck, disaray is rampant, nobody knows what the hey is going on, and the interim himself doesn't have a clue.

What do you do? Well most well run organizations would immediately fix the problem and not let it continue to go on.

For, if the situation is allowed to continue on, by the time you decided to hire your new permanent guy, things would be in such disrepair to the point of unfixable that any ole good coach might not even want the job. There's too much to fix.

The Wizard organization in their infinite wisdom are in danger of of creating a situation that is going to take enormous unprecidented effort to repair.

Did somebody say Stimulus Package.

What are you talking about? Yeah, the team is shorthanded and losing. OK. But, what is "running amok", "disaray is rampant", "nobody knows whats going on"?

Good lord. If they panicked like you are then things just might get that way. Next year we'll be whole and making another run towards the playoffs. How terrible that will be.
