the second unit of crit,ny,cb,ab and jm played very well and as soon as mcgee stepped off of the floor dallas proceeded to score at will inside, a ten point lead entirely evaporated in 5 minutes

Going into the 4th Q the almighty captains are 11-31 from the floor with 9 turnovers.

I don't want to nitpick, but our "veterans" make a slew of asinine mistakes.

mcgee seeing a whopping 2 second half minutes is inexcusable

As someone with high school level coaching experience, Tapscotts performance is appalling.
The stretch in the 3rd quarter where the game was decided was when the Mavs went zone and the Wiz did not stop running a man-to-man offense.
That would be unacceptable for an 8th grade team.

He pulled him after Bass got an offensive rebound in the second half. Out of all of the turnovers, horrible shot selection, poor defensive rotations and mistakes which are to voluminous to count, HE PULLED THE KID FOR A MISSED ASSIGNMENT. If you are going to coach tying playing time MISTAKES DO it across the board.
I could buy the veteran argument if these guys would win a game every once in a while and they ahve had a whole season to try. All you cats who have been serving the double-double, two All Star mantra re Jamison and Butler are straight tripping. They are both statistic hunters and don't make their teams better. They have been relegated to one on one, ineffective jumpshooters.
With the decline in play since the Tapscott rein and the obvious tension between Tapscott, McGee and Young, how do you even keep Tapscott in the organization.
To play these ineffective old guys all of these minutes this late in aseason when the teams record is 14 AND 52 (OR WHATEVER IT IS) IS PLAIN STUPID.

Right. Totally absurd coaching to let the captains play awful basketball and then pull youngsters after 1 mistake.
What was gained by playing the veterans so heavily in the 2nd half and not getting McGee minutes? Nothing.
