Arenas Is a Game-Time Decision

From Michael Lee in Memphis:
Gilbert Arenas is still listed as a game-time decision for tonight's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Arenas surprised the team with his announcement yesterday that he might play against Memphis rather than tomorrow against Cleveland. Wizards interim coach Ed Tapscott said "there is some logic" to Arenas playing tonight, but added that he would like for home fans to see Gilbert the rest of the way.

Tapscott also said that Darius Songaila will definitely be available against the Grizzlies.

Tapscott ought to say, "whatever Arenas' decision will be the team's plan." LOL

How does Taps define a knucklehead?

"Tapscott ... added that he would like for home fans to see Gilbert the rest of the way."

I always thought part of the reasons for Arenas to come back now is to sell season tickets for the next season (providing that it would not negatively impact Areans' health of course).

I really have a hard time figuring out how to feel about Gilbert. On one hand, I love him, and on the other hand, I think it is completely stupid that he is playing right now. I think we should play:

PG-Crittendon
SG-Young
F-Blatche
F-McGuire
C-McGee

...and let them play the whole game.

I'd kinda like to see Arenas go against the Cavs though...

It might make more sense for gil to play against Memphis and continue to ramp it up at a slower pace.

Put him out there against Cleveland and I'm sure the juices are going to really get flowing. This last couple of games is just supposed to be to get him back in the flow of things. He doesn't need to try and go off against LeBron.

As Tapscott said, there is some logic to that. The problem is that there is always the potential that Gil comes in tomorrow and declares himself fit to play against Cleveland also. Which, hopefully the trainers and coaches wouldn't allow - but we know who's really calling the shots.

I want him to play against the Cavs.

You know who else wants him to play against the Cavs? Every single guy he will be assigned to guard.
