Yesterday's most interesting news from Richmond was the fact that Gilbert Arenas sat out scrimmages for two days, getting his left hand examined after jamming his middle finger before training camp. Michael Lee also said he moved gingerly during sprints. Truth About It asks: "Arenas Up to His Old Tricks?". Truth About it also offers some fashion commentary.
Continuing on the lighter side, Gilbert also engaged Randy Foye in a three-pointer contest after practice.
Lee and the Washington Times' Mike Jones note that Mike James should not be overlooked in the position battles.
Lastly, Washington Wizards individual regular season tickets are now on sale. And they are offering a special rate for one week only.
Elsewhere in the league, Michael Wilbon writes about the looming possibility of replacement referees during the regular season. In a preseason game last night in Salt Lake City, the Denver Nuggets tried to fool the replacement refs with a bit of trickery.
Delonte West (Eleanor Roosevelt), finally showed up at Cavaliers training camp after two unexcused absences.
And further out West, it appears that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's work with Andrew Bynum -- and possibly the Lakers -- will be scaled back this season.
