Arenas is free but drama continues for Wizards

Wizards (21-49) at Bobcats (37-34)

Wizards starters: Shaun Livingston, Mike Miller, Alonzo Gee, Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee

Bobcats: Raymond Felton, Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, Boris Diaw , Theo Ratliff

Line: Bobcats by 10

The Wizards were mostly relieved to hear that Gilbert Arenas avoided jail time, but that didn't mean that the drama ceased for the team. The franchise that has dealt with major injuries over the years but the Wizards had an unexpected casualty on Friday - head athletic trainer Eric Waters, who came down with appendicitis and had to be rushed to hospital.

"We've always got something going down with our team. It's just one thing after another," Coach Flip Saunders said.

Saunders utilized his 24th different starting lineup, inserting Alonzo Gee and James Singleton for Al Thornton and JaVale McGee. Singleton received his start as a reward for grabbing a career-high 21 rebounds, while Gee got the nod because Thornton is still nursing a strained right hip flexor.

Before the game, Thornton ruled himself out of the game, and couldn't come up with a possible return. "This is one of those rare injuries," Thornton said. "It's tough to move. It's tough to put on pants in the morning. It's something I never had. Maybe it's two or three games. I can't even call it right now. I've got to rest it first. I haven't been able to get any kind of movement. I can't really guesstimate. I don't know."

The first thing Ted should do when he takes over is hire an exorcist. Then, an entirely new training/medical staff.

Exorcist? Nah -- we need to get Dennis Haysbert (Pedro Cerrano from Major League) and a bucket of KFC so we can break this spell.

i wonder if Al Thornton's knee is bothering him from when Dantay Jones doped him up the other night. I don't know if yall remember but Dantay crossed Al and Al took a really hard step and then tried to recover. It wasn't an eyepopping grotesque looking deal, just kinda funky.

Judge:
"Hold out your wrist son. Let me know if I slap it to hard. We all want you to go back out there and help the gizzards set an all time NBA losing streak."
