John Wall misses Washington Wizards practice with a groin injury

Wizards rookie point guard John Wall, the overall No. 1 pick in last month's draft, was held out of Wizards practice Friday morning after suffering a groin injury in a scrimmage Thursday night.

Michael Lee is at Verizon Center at a news conference for new Wizard Yi Jianlian, but he will have more on Wall soon.

Will he be able to participate in the summer league?

It probably is just a strain. The only treatment he will need is to keep the Wizards medical staff miles away from him.

Seriously though, here we go with this ishh!

Wow, what a dbag. Why is it idiotic saying curse? Do you prefer bad luck? Same difference. You tell me if this is not a curse:

Day after Wall gets drafted, Blatche, who showed a strong work ethic the past 2 years and promise @ the end of last season breaks his foot

2 days before summer league, the prodigious point guard/first pick overall etc. gets a groin injury (which tend to hamper ones ability and depending on the severity, can last a long time.

3 Not to mention everything that happen last season

4 Not to mention what happen with Gils injuries the years before then

So yes, I believe curse fits, d-bag clwalker1906

merajc86 why don't you come up with something a little more original. obviously you sit and wait for an injury to happen then like the assclown you are you post the same stupid "curse" statement. i guess your dumbass will wait for sometyhing else to happen and post the same crap again. injuries happen genius and before you start spouting out injury info research the difference between a strain or a pull then come back. we don't even know what the injury is yet you jackass. so sit your dumbass down and play ps3 or something.

How long do we think it will be before some nutcase tweets something along the lines of "John Wall has leg amputated"?

Posted by: SportzWiz | July 9, 2010 2:55 PM | Report abuse

Why do you care? If you want to debate basketball, sure...your the dbag who criticizes someone personally for a harmless comment. Injuries do happen, but they seem to happen often with the Wizards. Before Gil, it was Caron and Haywood during a playoff run at that. And curse is not just about injury as to what the wizards have always suffered from . From the first pick fiasco of Kwame Brown to this being the first year we draft higher then we are slotted to in ages. We have had gone to the 2nd round once, in what 20+ years. Hence we are called Clippers east (who BTW, Bill Simmons off ESPN called a cursed franchise). Also, who can forget the Chris Webber trade. The whole negative publicity from the Tracy Murray/ Rod Strickland fight. The multiple ACL injuries to Chris Webber when he was out franchise player. Getting bogged down with Juwan Howard's contract. Having to witness players like Ladell Eckales... More recently, LeBron whispering in Gils ear and missing those free throws. Etc Etc

So yes, this is a cursed franchise, which I mentioned harmlessly. Don't be a jackass and debate basketball...

clwalker try to keep your hands steady enough to click submit one time.

As far as Wall, groin injuries are nagging and take a long time to heal. Playing basketball with as much change of direction is involved is one of the worst things for it too.

Posted by: millineumman | July 9, 2010 3:28 PM | Report abuse

No big deal. He is basically in NBA boot camp. Transforming his college body into a professional one. These types of strains will happen. And remember, all of you pansies, pain is weakness leaving the body.

Agreed, but groin injuries worry me..esp on a player that depends on his superior speed

Posted by: merajc86 | July 9, 2010 3:35 PM | Report abuse

LMAO! There's been a Ladell Eckles reference!

Posted by: CBell29 | July 9, 2010 3:38 PM | Report abuse

@ merajc86:

Groins are tricky, but he's 19. He will heal quickly as all those teenagers do.

Posted by: ericroks | July 9, 2010 3:40 PM | Report abuse

my point exactly. you come on here repating what a sports writing talking head states. i guess your cure for the curse would be to carry around a freakin rabbits foot huh? just stupid. again its amazing to see these internet doctors trying to explain what a groin injury is to me. lol for the last time IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE SEVERITY OF THE INJURY YOU CAN'T MAKE AN INFORMED CONCLUSION. is that steady enough for you Eman8?

Posted by: clwalker1906 | July 9, 2010 3:41 PM | Report abuse

But here is the point you are missing...no one made any conclusions...we didn't say...ooo he is done...he is injury prone...which obviously he is not (due to his history). We just stated the facts from what we have seen....groins can hamper someone...thats the extent to what anyone has said...

I am reading these entries and I see you guys jumping on clwalker1906 and I am wondering the same thing he was. Why in the world would you automatically assume the worst and start spouting out this dumb curse stuff? Then I am reading merajc86 and you sound like you are debating with him and you two are saying the same thing! ??? He said you don't know the extent of the injury so you can't jump to conclusions. Whats to debate about that? clwalker1906 I agree with you!!!

Posted by: heatseeker690069 | July 9, 2010 4:01 PM | Report abuse

my freakin point exactly. heatseeker690069. curse my a$$ injuries happen and in sports you never know. the injury can be a grade 1,2,3a strain, a pull, tightness, or anything. its silly to come on here with the same ol' woe is me we are cursed stuff every year.

Posted by: clwalker1906 | July 9, 2010 4:04 PM | Report abuse

My issue is him coming across and calling me an idiot off the get go...yes I said curse...never did I say he was out for the season...I am just annoyed by the personal attack...like I said before, I love to debate basketball...not b.s.

Posted by: merajc86 | July 9, 2010 4:06 PM | Report abuse

don't take playful comments so seriously

Posted by: merajc86 | July 9, 2010 4:09 PM | Report abuse

That may have been a little overboard but I think you guys are in agreement personal attacks aside.

Has there been any word on offseason upgrades to the Wizards medical staff?

Let's face it, their reputation isn't exactly stellar...
