Jump ball: Suggest a dunk for JaVale

By Washington Post editors

While JaVale McGee is trying bounce back from illness and a slump, he is also preparing to compete in the NBA's slam dunk contest, which will take place on Feb. 19 during All Star Weekend.

"I got three of my four ideas already, so I'm kind of good," McGee said, without revealing any secrets about his dunk plans. In this video, he says he needs one more dunk.

What should JaVale's fourth dunk be?

Box a rugged man out, grab an offensive rebound and slam it home.

Do three car wheels then dunk the ball.

Have a digital camera in one had, ball in the other. Jump from the free throw line, get as high as you can -- take a picture of yourself in the air, then dunk the ball. Not only are you guaranteed to win, that picture will be in every sports magazine without a doubt over the next month.

1. Wear a Home Jersey, those road jerseys haven't been much luck this year.

2. Dunk over a dougie-ing John Wall, and he ally-oops a ball to you.

That would really rock if he does this.

That is a pretty awesome idea, you should send it his way

Start from the low post, back in, and settle for a mid range jumper. All the Wizards fans will be happy with you sticking to the regular game plan.

If he really wanted to stay true to himself, he'd come up with an amazing dunk but have it called off because of goal tending.

Raise the basket to 12 feet, have John Wall throw a pass of the backboard for a two hand rock the rim dunk. Never been done (quarantee win)

I'd like to see a double dunk. You'd have to remove the net, though. I think there are only a couple of ppl that could possibly do it and JM is one.

Jump, dunk with two hands, catch it after it goes down but while still in the air and dunk it again.

Would be awesome in slo-mo.

Matter of fact, there are only a couple of ppl I can think of that would have been able to do a dbl dunk because it requires either extreme height (giving you enough room to drop it in and catch it) and/or hang time.

Vince (of course)
MJ (maybe)
Nique (probably)
Jason Richardson (maybe)
Clyde Drexler (maybe)
Darrell Griffith (maybe)
David Thompson maybe ?

I like the camera idea - but I say use one of those polaroid instant cameras. Take a picture of the ball going in facing himself (get his face in the frame with the ball). (Awesome, so a Wiz player will never do it)

After the dunk he can hand it to John Wall who can shake it out while doin the dougie...(LAME, but thats how the Wiz roll)
