Mini-Math-Siesta and a Cool Link
The first quarter is officially over, and students have two days off while teachers calculate grades. I did a little homework over the weekend, so I would not completely forget how to graph piecewise functions, but I'm enjoying a mini-math-siesta.
Here's some food for thought in the meantime. The American Mathematical Society puts together a digest of math-related journalism. I think it's a great roundup (and not just because it mentions x=why?). There are links to stories about the 11-year-old MATHCOUNTS champion and a new column from the Times Online about "the human side of math."
